Someone at AFL House wants Dew gone. That's all I take from Wilson's commentary on the issue.
Is that going to solve the problem?

Their issues go beyond Dew. The history with all coaches is average. Perhaps other things need to change and Caro should investigate those?

Spot on here.

Likely someone or some team at AFL house have a KPI or OKR to grow the game in Queensland. The easy thing here is to blame the Suns/Dew for not being Swans/Roos and go to the likes of Caro whinging that "we've" got to make a change.

Look for a title like "Head of participation and growth - Emerging Markets" that'll be your guy.

I reckon the AFL see this Queensland experiment falling apart and are desperate to get a high profile coach up there.
Dew is only high profile around the Pie Shops.
Hardwick could have a nice relaxing life up there away from shythole Melbourne.

Convincing a well sated premiership coach to take on a job to fatten his retirement fund at a club where nobody cares sounds like the perfect solution to their issues
I know a guy.

Personally, I don’t think it would.

I wasn’t saying there is merit in the view. All I was saying is that Wilson’s reporting is likely based on sources but those sources have barrows to push.

Seems like they are trying to blame football for her issues...

She had 3 lesions on her brain from concussions as a result of playing football. What would you like to blame, being dropped as a baby on her head?

I find the media coming for Dew really odd. Absolutely no-one expected them to make finals this year, yet narrowly missing finals is now a massive failure.

Dew’s completely rebuilt their list and for the first time, probably ever, they look to have a well balanced list with key players in their early 20’s who want to stay the course. They’re another 2 years away from being a top team by any logical trajectory.

Meanwhile, Goodwin can slowly tourch a premiership favourite list and no-one in the media bats an eye lid.

Didn’t they try that with Eade?

But picked the wrong ā€œhigh profileā€ washed out-multi club coach.

I don’t think Eade is on the same level as a 3 time premiership coach but in saying that they could get JC and it still wouldn’t make a difference.
It’s Queensland it’s Rugby.

I without a hint of sarcasm, don't know who that is. Since they don't mention it in the post or the picture, I still don't.

By process of deduction my guess would be Serong given the contract length?
