This is what is so frustrating about our season - there is no standout team that I think we don’t stack up with talent wise.

Every team has fatal flaws this season, including us. It comes down to who is better prepared, healthy and able to execute under pressure.

We cant count on any of these three.
Yeah it’s who’s on song when the big stuff starts.
Collingwood still favs but who gets there with them is anyone’s guess.
Our best is good enough for sure, we just need these injuries/illness to stop building up.

I seriously question our mental strength

Grundy has really added to the Melbourne forward line.

Added what, I'm not so sure.
Needs to sack his agent and then decide what club he's playing for next year, because it cannot be Melbourne.

Curnow could win Carlton a flag, he is giving me Wayne Carey vibes.
You need a gun forward to win a flag we have Charlie Dixon who is moving like an 80 year old.

Is this the first penalty shootout you've ever watched in your life? This always happens.
Yep - the time taken to react to a kick is measured in milliseconds. Unless the kicker makes a mistake in approach this gives no time to react.

In the UK Premier League last year 75% of penalties taken were successful. And most of the misses were not due to goal keeper saves but kicking errors.

It's a scoring system stacked against goal keepers.

It's why goal keepers are given cheat sheets (sometimes written on their water bottles) from their coach before penalty shoot outs - giving the % data on whether an opponent shooter goes left or right on penalty shots. They then commit to diving to one side or another. A guess in other words - and forget the high/low stuff.

But arguing the toss on this ignores the absolute ice cold veins of Matilda goal keeper Mackenzie Arnold tonight - who had to keep fronting up to save goals after missing a couple of saves and taking her own penalty kick. Gutsy courageous stuff by any measure.
