So Fremantle (8th) and GWS (9th) are above us on the ladder.

We need both teams to start losing for us to get from 10th position into the 8. Hence why we need Saints to win this.

We need absolute minimum 6/8 but need big wins. Leaves us with 13 wins
7/8 might get us there but can't lose to gc or freo

Most importantly we need to beat GC, Freo and ideally Hawks. Brisbane must be a win to gather any momentum.

Crows and Hawks probably get 15 wins as do Collingwood, Brisbane and Geelong. Bulldogs will also get there.

Only hope is we can jump GC and or Freo.

Hinkley getting turfed and Carr moving into his spot , which seems to be the dream for many here, is in my opinion a bad move.

1. If Carr takes over now there is zero to gain and everything to lose.

He cannot implement his own gameplan this late, and would be coaching a bastardised version of hinkleys… but he’s going to be judged on results regardless.

2. People are under the mistaken impression that booting Hinkley would somehow be justice , or would rewrite the narrative.. and he will leave in some sort of disgrace it would be an admission of failure.

Those people have not been paying attention to the last decade.

It won’t be.

They’ll paint it as Hinkley stepping aside for the better of the club.



The bed has been made. I think the best way forward is for Hinkley to coach out the year, as much as it will grate on all of us, and carr to take over when the team is actually his to coach.

I see the opposite as true, if Carr is moved in now he can use the rest of the season to get the players in order and his ideas tried out. Basically a free hit with no pressure (not that this club seems to apply pressure).

Then he has pre season to tweak.
