The other clubs have been saying that about Port for 6 years, how did that go? 😂
Unfortunately our players didn't take their opportunitys.
We should of beat Sydney in last years preliminary final. We smacked them by over 100 earlier last year.

Don't be surprised if they get guys like Oscar Allen
I won’t be, but take a look at their best 22 - aside from the Daicos boys and Judas there’s a bare cupboard in 2-3 seasons.

Hinkley getting turfed and Carr moving into his spot , which seems to be the dream for many here, is in my opinion a bad move.

1. If Carr takes over now there is zero to gain and everything to lose.

He cannot implement his own gameplan this late, and would be coaching a bastardised version of hinkleys… but he’s going to be judged on results regardless.

2. People are under the mistaken impression that booting Hinkley would somehow be justice , or would rewrite the narrative.. and he will leave in some sort of disgrace it would be an admission of failure.

Those people have not been paying attention to the last decade.

It won’t be.

They’ll paint it as Hinkley stepping aside for the better of the club.

The bed has been made. I think the best way forward is for Hinkley to coach out the year, as much as it will grate on all of us, and carr to take over when the team is actually his to coach.
Agree, the ship has sailed

We’ve eaten a shit sandwich for years now, a few more months isn’t going to hurt

Being the least likeable bloke on the field in a game against the Crows is some achievement but Tom Lynch has achieved that in spades. One of the top few flogs in the league.

Fwiw we should really have 10 wins rn. 3 disappointing games we had every opportunity to win
Port should realistically be 2nd with 12 or 13 wins. They lost 4 to 5 games that should of been won. Essendon, Saints, Crows, Geelong at home, Sydney at home and Freo away seeing as Port normally play Optus strong and play better against Freo.

unfortunately injuries since season start made positions fielding and structure struggle. Rozee playing the main midfield at start still playing strong but being tagged out. Hornet out for some and no butters plus backline injuries and structure since round 1 with Esava and BZT. That and no Todd or Luko. if they literally had a healthy side with Butters Hornet Sav BZT Luko and yes, Toddy from round 1 they'd be top 4 easily and I honestly reckon they would of beat the pies round 1.

The Hawks game exhausted the players and majority of the players in were young and inexperienced. No Farrel, No Houston, Burton too was injured and not ready for Sydney game and Butters beat up too. They could of won but yeah that Hawks game took its toll. Sydney had a lucky win in the semi against GWS and got a good break on poor form hence why Lions smashed them in GF

Might be a few floggings next round (not just us) - every game is between a top 9 team versus a bottom 9 team.
Yep.

After this week the top 9 will have a huge gap to the bottom 9.

We will be 4 games out of the 8 with 7 to play. Season not far from mathematical chances even written off very early.

Hilarious how bad our percentage is, we're literally a 370 point win away from catching the Suns % in 8th. Mind you, they have a game in hand, so if you then look to the Dogs, we're about 530 points behind.

What a shit show of a year.

Eight is pretty well decided already and gap between top and bottom seems larger then ever, reckon crowds for uncompetitive matchups will really fall of in coming weeks. Even Fri Sydney Bulldogs only pulled 29k. AFL wont be happy.

Top 8 isn’t decided but it’s down to 9.

Haven’t seen this much of a gap between the top half and bottom half since 2016, that season was ridiculous how early the 8 was set and was only made interesting because north nearly shat the bed and missed the 8, snuck in by percentage after a 9 and 0 start.

We lost to Geelong by 79 and never gave a yelp against Freo or Sydney. Unsure how you’re chalking those up as “shoulda been” victories.

We finished second on the home and away ladder and had a direct route to a GF if we were good enough. We weren’t. There’s a lot of gymnastics in the excuses you’re making.
