There are only 2 that i can think of at this stage.

1 Fevola, complete attitude turn around and coleman medalist(hopefully)
2 Marc Murphy, a great kid with a huge future.

Can anyone shed some light on anything else?

1.
your not serious, surely??????????????
2.
agree as above
3.
Walker - has improved out of sight.
4.
Lance - general down back.
5.
Thornton - great 2nd 1/2 of the year, with some more help down back will be even better.
6.
Simpson - 100% improvement, future Captain?
7.
Blackwell, Kennedy - shown enough, great futures.
8.
Scotland - how important is he, what a fantastic year he is having.
9.
Waite and Fisher - great comebacks from injury, important forward players.
10.
Eddie - huge potential, has made great strides T/Y
11.
Look at the Bullants - some of our Kids are developing nicely and will be elevated 2007 when we de-list 6 or so of the tried and failed.
12.
I reckon 2006 has been a great year just seeing the overall improvment, and still more to come. Can't wait for 2007.

I think we've deleoped a fair amount of players. Now it's all about coaching these guys to compete for 4 quarters and win matches.

Not a heap of positives... Maybe:

1/ Walkers improvement
2/ Thornton
3/ Kids like Blackwell and big Josh

Another #1 Pick... Gibbs

Yes have to agree with Gibbs.

1. Fevola
2. walker
3. murphy

you guys got a lot of talent, how you manage to finish last for like past 10 years?

Surely you Blue boys have to be happy with Wiggins this year? May have took a while to emerge, but looks like quality in the games he has played this year. Also like the look of young Blackwell.

I think Sporn might be in danger of being traded or maybe even delisted!

Sporn would hope he can be traded (can't see anybody taking him when he can't perform in the bottom side) because otherwise he is a certainty to be delisted.

Don't mean to take a negative spin on this. But really other than Fev and some improvement on our players, 2006 potentially could be our worst season ever.

1) We've lost a lot of members (~1million bucks worth).
2) We've not won as many games (yet) as we did last year, albeit with a better list on paper.
3) At least last year we had a pre-season cup to show us something and that brought about extra members/revenue. If we win next years pre-season people will not find it creditable enough to buy a membership.
4) In club fighting begining.. Pagan/Smorgon etc.
5) Finances... sure we've paid back about 5 million of the 12 we owed... but really now we owe another 1.5 million. So our debt is back to 8.5million instead of 7.
6) Another wooden spoon on the way.

The only way we can achieve positives from this year is if the club learns from it, and tries to rectify things. We primarily need stability and unity amongst board, coaches, players and supporters/members. We need a clearer direction set out instead of stupid catch phrases and the "we must wait" comments.

The players have got to look within themselves and realise this club is not about what the "club can do for me" but what "I can do for the club". Are players today more concerned about money? We need to get the mentality in the club, that we're playing for the jumper and a chance for ultimate success. Money helps and is a fact of life, but passion is the key.

We may not have won as many games this year but we've been more competitive and haven't been far away from wins. Last year we beat a depleted Collingwood & Richmond and barely scraped over the line against Essendon & Hawthorn, playing one good quarter. We could have lost all those games.

Scotland becoming consistent has to a major positive.

Setanta looks like he could become a regular defender next season with ever developing dash and flair.

The desperation of Betts at such a young age.

The emergance of Blackwell perhaps a year sooner than expected.

Simpson continuing to improve and showing some leadership skills.

Fev's continued improvement with more to come imo.

Walker same as Fev.

Kennedy getting some games under his belt. Looks to be a potential strong marking forward with capacity to demand respect.

From all reports looks like Bower has the dash to complement the back 6 next year.

Potential for Thornton to really becoming an attacking defender if released to half back.

Leadership of Lance where he has held calm and steady in a testing season.

Carrazzo winning enough ball to suggest with some summer work on finish that he could be a solid back up player.

Bryan showing that he has the skill to be valueable if he can work on his application.

if we get gibbs hope He's a super champion and hope Essendon Wished they finished last, its not over yet They Can Still finish last :) if we can cause a upset and beat the Tigers and Hawthorn flogg the Bombers anything can happen :) we could beat the Swans too so not over til the Fat Lady Sings :D
this year will go right down til rd 22
some years its sealed early and others right down til last rd

Huge NEGATIVES

1/ A lack of 3 tall defenders still years away. The injuries to Bower and Harlett again meant we couldn't blood them and get some games into them. Thornton is our only tall defender , with Whitnall needed up foward and Livingston soon to get the chop

Tall Defenders don't grow on trees, till we fix the problem , we are s/h/i/t

By the way Bower might look good in VFL but thats not the AFL. People thought Livingston was going to good and take over from SOS , when i heard that and saw luke in the 2nds playing i just shook my head and laughed

2/ Still no future Leaders at the club , maybe GIbbs if we get him or Murphy but u wouldn't want to give them the captaincy for about 4 years .

3/Simpson showed through last year and now blackwell this year but still lack grunt and hardness at the ball, we are too soft and slow

4/ Drop in club members

5/ Our new President , I reckon he is the biggest RICHARDHEAD. He has no idea and many suggest we lack good boards members
One good thing at least the guy who stuffed the club is gone still , JOHN ELLIOT u have a lot to answer for, u crook

JJ and Ken Hunter ....spot on!!!
We've been ok at best, look at the HAW`game ,we went in as favourites and got smashed IMO.
Another thing we need is to start kicking some goals off-field.Let's start drawing on the club "brand",let's become the rising star and get some serious money and credentials back to the club.
Unfortunately I don't see the board doing much behind the scenes.
Does anyone else agree

This may sound stupid but Today 7 years ago my nan died and was a mad Carlton supporter and if Brisbane wasn't in the comp I would have been a Calton supporter I admire how the team conducts its self. I love your clubs proud history and I love how your team payed respect to my nan at her funeral by giving her a huge Carlton flag to put on her Coffin she would have loved that. As for your teams effort this year it hasnt been the best year but im sure with time your team will improve you guys have alot of talent in that team and I really hope you guys get Bryce Gibbs ( I wouldnt mind him in our team but we cant get him) good luck for 2007 guys!!!!.:thumbsu: :thumbsu: :thumbsu:
