1) Houlihan took on the game and used his running ability to his advantage.

2) We had more pressure on the dockers defenders coming out of 50.

3) Glass played another great game, likewise ebert, hurn, masten

Pat mcGinnity played well, anyone know who he tagged?

Houlihan was good.

McGinnity is getting WAAAAAAY too much love in this thread. He has almost zero actual class .... he works and tries hard though... how many frigging Priddis' types do we want?

He does have very good pace though.

But he does lack class.

The Saints v Doggies is following it on 10? We get to see 1 good game today!:D

Unfair on McGinnity, he is a much better kick than Priddis. The kick he deliver to LeCras for his goal as an example. And he is not as slow .

Positve :That this result brings a better opportunity to clean out the list and better opporunity to grab the best of WA talent.

McGinnity lacks class, like Priddis. We need class. Some on this thread are suggesting he was good today. He wasn't but he gets "votes" for the same reasons as Priddis from some - who seem to like hard working plodders.

If that amounts to be "Unfair on McGinnity" then you need to HTFU.

Sorry Eagle87, I completely agree with what you are saying. Its just that at the game, I was so staggered at Priddis's game today. I'm amazed that there has no mention of Priddis's game on here.

It just that I'm starting to loathe Priddis. I still think McGinnity is a much better kick than Priddis. Apologises, I was not having a go.

:thumbsu:

Indeed.

He gets it .... and often you just really wish he didnt. Yet we play him 80%+ game time every week and all of it in the middle of the ground.

Yep and the thing is he is really slow. And the difference in class stands out when you compare him to Masten. How little impact, Priddis can put on the game. He had something like 8 tackles, 1 more than Masten. Yet, it seem like Masten was a tackling machine and Priddis had little physical presence in the game.

I might be harsh on him, but I was really dissapointed.

A few positives despite defeat:

Masten looking increasingly comfortable at this level

Swift showing good pace and enterprise- decision-making not the best, but that will come

Houlihan gave us good run and looks to have put a bit more muscle on his frame

Regarding McGinnity, I think he's viewed as a potential tagger and he shows potential for that role. We need a good lock-down tagger. We don't really have on ecurrently. These days Selwood and Stenglein seem to be unable to substantially restrict the out put of the better midfielders in any significant way. Contrast that with the effect of Jones at St Kilda, Cornes at Port, Ling at Geelong etc. We need to give McGinnity a chance.

Houlihan looks a better player after his haircut (would probably help him get into clubs as well)

Agree with what has been said about M.Brown. I like his confidence and run.

Masten and Ebert to a lesser extent are starting to string decent games together which is also pleasing

Definitely a place in the team for McGinnity. I hope he can play the Aaron Joseph/Liam Picken/Clinton Jones type role for us (he has better skill and is less dirty so that's a relief).

-Houlihan. Actually has some decent skills which is something we desperately need

-Tommy Swift showed a lot. I liked that he actually took the game on

-Naitanui showed glimpses. Him and Cox will be a great duo next year.

-Glass was brilliant

-Kennedy's bumps on that flog Duffield

-McGinnity was very good at the hard stuff

-We're overdue for a Derby victory :D

Yes he was, but not according to Tony Shaw who believes that his direct opponent did a great job 'on him' Unbelievably bad commentator. And...unbelieavably bad camera work for the whole game, it's possible the cameraman may have taken something.

That was one of the more baffling peices of commentart I've ever heard - even from Shaw

Yes, that was a WTF? moment for me too!

Went on to say something like "Grover hasn't kicked any goals but he has done the job on Glass". I was wondering if he thought Glass was the FF and Grover the FB?
