Positives Thread - Post Round 3

We're a win clear of the reigning minor premier and only a win behind the reigning three-peat side (who were less than a minute away from being equal with us).

Our most dynamic player who lifts the side with his intensity and work-rate is back in the side this week, and his impact - along with the return of the best endurance runner at the club - will go a long way to rectifying our shocking spread thus far.

We simply cannot play any worse, and the media blow-torch should ensure that we improve to some extent.

Brett Ratten hasn't been offered any senior coaching roles.

I think that most would agree that at least " on Paper " we have a pretty good list. and there fore I think that a lot of our issues can be addressed sooner rather then later.

with the addition of Sidebottom and Varcoe already that begins to fix two issues. one class and skill with Sidebottom ( I'd add Varcoe aswell ) and two Varcoe really sets the standard as far as 2nd 3rd efforts go and harassing.

I would say that our list is actually quite poor. We have Pendlebury who is injured who would be A grade and maybe Treloar. We need at least 4-5 A graders in the future (possibly Moore, DeGoey, Scharenberg - but not proven yet). We have a lot of middle of the rung players who are nice to have but not game breakers like Sidebottom, Adams, Greenwood, Varcoe, Williams and a few others. We have a few promising kids but our list is not a scary prospect at all.....especially when Cloke is playing so poorly.

Think I may one of a few that thought that Shaw was a good 'coach' in the true sense of the word.
He had a really tough gig.

Agreed...he was thrown under a bus really...he inherited a decade of neglect...McAllister was a twit and Lethal left things in a mess, not for the last time..

Nit picking but he was beaten this year in the 2km time trial for the first time I can remember by Tom Phillips I think.
