OK, we lost.
Im as dissapointed as everybody is.
BUT, ive got to say, there were a few impressive points IMHO

* Fishers 3 goals; Hes been pretty bad this year, and im not the only one thats going to admit that. But all his goals were on the run, and they were all accurate. Without Fish crumbing from Fev we might have lost by a bit more.

* Jordan Russel - Wasnt dissapointed with his game as always, thought he showed a fair bit, and imo is finally starting to come along nicely.

* The Soccer Goal - Fevs in the 1st quarter was outstanding. Really not a huge fan of him, but i thought it deserved some applaud :p

* Armfield; Absolutely loved his smother in the North Melbourne forward line, thought it was terriffic from the first year player.

* Special K - Second and third attempts were outstanding, especially in the last(?) quarter down near our forward 50.

Dont shoot me down, it was a disapointing loss, but theres always going to be a light at the end of the tunnel.

geez were struggling for positives If you added Fish 3 goals and Jordan russel

lol I cant believe you have Fishers 3 goals as a positive. Junk time goals arent a positive we are struggling if that's the case. Positives for me Murphy, Krooz is a ****ing gun already. Our first quarter if we can play like that for 4 quarters we will smash any team. Our whole season has been a great positive for us, am looking forward to next years we will be in the 8 for sure.

We'll get Jack Ziebell ;)

Seriously though, it's hard to find any after todays performance, i'd say the first quarter was the only positive worth mentioning. The Roos were just way too good today, it wouldn't surprise me if they beat Geelong next week the way there playing at the moment.

For all those 'positives' i thought Kreuzer's was the one worth anything to us. I bloody love him more than judd even. His tenacity has made me smile more than anything else. Here's a kid that can show others around him what it means to put your body on the line and he's only 19. I hope to be seeing him playing on in 10 years time with the navy blue and everyone in the footy world can say "geez he's a great player isn't he?"

All but guaranteed to have selection 6 now. Ziebell would look awesome in a Carlton jumper. :thumbsu:

Kreuzer is a bloody legend, Murphs gave up the ball too much for my liking but then again the whole bloody team did. 2nd quarter was an absolute disgrace. Armfield is gonna be great. Cloke had one of his best games for the year also.

As the Wicked Witch once said "All in good time my prettys, all in good time"

We're a very young side taking on a seasoned team of big and hard bodied professionals. Sure, I was disappointed by the result, but expected it none the less. Carlton need to top up their list and get a couple of good pre-seasons under the belt before we will truly threaten in finals footy.

For god's sake Ratts do the following:
Get the forwards to work for each other..not just Fev
Sign a decent ruck man..even if only an interim proposition
Stop the "several Blues players going for mark/spoil and crashing to ground like skittles allowing the opposition to sit back and receive the ball scenario"

The main positive, it was a genuine top four side and we didn't lose by 100+.

hbf do you rate Jamie Sheahan plays with the Bushirangers, is captain at Assumption College and when available plays in the 1s at Mansfield in Goulburn Vally Leauge, handles it with ease, looks to me like he could be a player.

Kreuzer, absolutely.

I just bloody LOVE this kid. If the whole entire team gave the same effort and commitment he does we would be a lot better off.

Fisher's goal kicking was a bit better...but...not a lot else.

Cloke's goal kicking practice seems to have worked because he slotted them nicely.

Wiggins is a champ, so very courageous. I think he only did good things today, sure he gave away that 50 but for some reason I cheered him for it. Probably just because I was frustrated and enjoyed him charging into the NM player but there is no questioning his bravery and effort.

Fev's kicking was fantastic.

Murphy, except for a couple of odd kicks seemed to do very well too.

Cloke tried hard and done well
Jamo as always
Grigg on wells done well and is becoming a player
Judd =SUPERSTAR
Murph wasnt to bad .
Who was carrots on today?I thought it was thomas or campell if so done well also.

Campbell was on carrots for the first half. Other than a turnover i thought Carrazzo was very good and is the only small defender who actually plays tight on his man. How does Scotland get so much praise from everyone - he is the definition of front runner. The footy world has him to thank for playing Shannon Grant back into some serious form. The only players worth mentioning were Murph, Kreuz and Walker.

Unfortunately Grant and Harvey...as always, still got away from us, but effort from the boys to hold Thomas and Campbell was exceptional.

Kreuzer - I think he is a freak. ;)

Walker - missed him a lot this year. Was great today and hit targets with his both feet on the run. Drilled it to Fev on his left foot with a brilliant kick. 75% efficiency today.

Browne - love what he'll bring to Carlton in the next few years.

Hampson - will be a good ruckman in two years. His play around the ground work is improving after he cut off an inside 50 with a great mark.

Grigg - beat Wells and didn't give him an inch. Wells acknowledged him at the end of the day.

Russell - he kicked a great goal from 50 with a snap. :thumbsu:

His senior teammates could take a look at one of his second efforts when he chased three opponents on his own and should have won a free. Piss weak that Russell had to take on three players who were lining up at CHB to run the ball out of defence and raffled it.

Murphy - just a class mid.

My thoughts on No 8 are already apparent. Thought Walks kicking today was dreadful. Loved BROWNE and that beautiful pass to Fev - he's cool and collected when needed. Murph's kicking is actually the worst kind of abnormality. He is so neat and compact in all his work, seeing him butchering the ball is akin to a RR by the side of the road with a flat tyre - incongruous to say the least. Russell performed a tremendous chase down and I was so happy when that goal went through - particularily after watching him pre-game missing from straight in front. Loved Grigg's toughness and niggle. Seriously one-sided but what are you going to do? When Hammer controls his jump he will be a good ruckman. Good to see him moving around the ground - he's quite quick.
