Positives

I was looking for a GBU thread.

As I only have ugly comments to make.

I would like to point out one positive though...

Totally agree.. Matty De Boar's marking was elite.:thumbsu:

I thought Stephen Hill did some pretty good in and under work which he is not renowed for. He is on path to becoming a complete player.
Let's not underestimate his value in the side in getting the main tagger which frees Fyfe up .

It seems fyfe doesn't get tagged. Not sure he's able to be shutdown totally, so teams tag hill cause they know he can be tagged out of the game.

Teams dont tag Fyfe because he is an in and under player and if he does he can just drag the tagger forward and out mark them.

Hill is getting better at handling the tag. He would not of got 19 touches in previous seasons.

His impact in the 2nd half when players were getting tired has been undersold.

It was almost like he was being coached to be a decoy until the 2nd half. It was quite intelligent IMO.

And why should Fyfe get a haircut? I reckon his hair looks awesome. Another positive. The best player, with the best hair.

He has got the whole mgmt thing going at the moment, hopeful he doesn't adopt their lifestyle as well

Imagine when Anthony "Taxi Driver" Morabito comes in.
Who do you tag?

Keep tagging Hill and we have 2 top of the wozza line breakers in the Taxi Driver and Mundy.

Tag any of the others and Hill is free to search and destroy.

Oh and Fyfe and Barlow.....

All Lyon needs to do is get these guys together and we will smash sides like the Hawks final a couple of years ago.

Actually, Hill averaged 19 touches last year. His career high is 28 disposals.

Last year against Geelong, he had 20 disposals.

While Ibbotson didn't set the world on fire, I was glad not to see any of the brain fades or lack of awareness issues. He could be an important player if he keeps that up and improves his execution a little.

Intensity. He's always seemed laconic, whereas on Saturday there just seemed to be a bit of urgency about him. He still made some mistakes/poor decisions but they weren't through a lack of effort/intensity. He wasn't simply cruising around.

Michael Johnson, has generally been able to pick and choose his moments as well. Contrast his 2010 finals series with the majority of his efforts in 2011. He was very solid in the first half on Saturday.

For the most part, the players just seemed to know what they needed to do and went out and did it.
