Wow Hill not an A grade player? He is the very definition of an A grade Player

Objectively, I think most people would describe Hill as an emerging player who if he continues to improve, will be A grade. In my opinion, Pav, Fyfe, Macca and Sandi are our only A Graders.

put a fiver on freo to win by over 40 points and geelong to win by fewer than forty, odds at 140-1. cherry on the cake.

On after the bounce(foxfootyshow) i think they said someone put $3000 on freo to win by 40+ winning over $25000 i think it was.

Also the Freo winning without Pav in melbourne is such a stupid stat, he hardly ever misses any games so there isnt much opportunity to win without him.

Positives

Pressure and intensity was top notch.
They all would of been watching or heard about the carlton result, very easily could of changed the attitude going into the game.
Everytime it looked like North were coming, we snuffed them out.
In the end north couldnt handle the pressure and we walked all over them.
Sandilands showing the fools he is way better than Griffin and is always first choice when fit.

Absolute favorite part of the game was just after Sandilands kicked his goal. He got right up in the grill of some North player and was an edge I haven't seen from Sandilands before. Reminiscant of Voss vs Burns in the grand final.

Yep Sandi was absolutely great today - seems to be playing with an intensity/focus that he has something to prove - keep it going Sandi

Now that, ladies and gentlemen, is a mother freakin positive right there.

Great work Bender!

Four years on, that draft class is really starting to look like something special.

FWIW, I reckon in three or so years we will be speaking of the class of the 2011 draft (Shero, Sutty, Spurr, Neale, and of course Croz) in the same terms.

Yeah, that list of draftees is impressive, for a single year no less.

I'm worried still. Pavlich and Macca are still aging and we have yet to find even remotely suitable replacements. In that this regard, selecting Pitt @ 10 might turn out to be a disaster. We needed to get that pick right-it remains to be seen if he will even make it, certainly the signs are not good.

The midfield is set. I think we have a good team together now. With Morabito to come back, it's becoming a strength of ours.

The forward line to, and in most aspects the back line, are OK, but are missing that next generation of stars. We have the grunt, though. The class is what we need.

It is a massive shame the injuries Mora has had - a few years set back on his development and experience. But I am still confident/hopeful he can regain some of that lost ground and become a very valuable player - time will tell. Remember physically he is very similar to Pav with a great engine.

Hopefully we can strike gold in this years ND as it's meant to be a quality draft.

Statements made just now on 'On the couch', players are saying that Fremantle are the hardest team to play against. That is officially the positive of my year, I think we are beginning to plant respect/fear in the hearts of our opponents, the only thing that would top this for mine would be a GF appearance.

Yup, definitely. Perhaps Harvey was a decent coach. He was not, however, elite, top-end in terms of his game day decisions and tactical awareness etc- our entire coaching panel was not an advantage. It now is.

Notice, the attention we now receive, both here and in the media. People are taking notes of how we play, analyzing our performances and actually care about what Fremantle are doing. We are at the forefront of tactical innovation, with a game-plan that is dangerous, well designed and suffocating to our adversaries. never, could anyone possibly speculate Harvey could devise a similar setup. he was an average coach and I suppose a well liked guy. That's all. We now have a top notch coach. the way Harvey was replaced was not perfect, but it needed to be done.

You can add Menagola, Jordan Wilson-King and Schloithe to that list also. Schloithe in particular looks like he could be a gun. JWK looks like Hayden reincarnated and Menagola has shown some fantastic form in the WAFL as a hard running wingman.

Why does everybody forget the best in Alex Forster? He's next years Norm Smith winner

Yeh great post, and with Suban and Son-son improving it looks better and better.

I think the biggest positive for mine is that it would have to be the best performance we've had as a team in 2 years.

Four quarter effort, solid throughout and that last quarter, I looked at that and saw a team that could possibly win a flag if they played like that more regularly. There were no passengers and the pressure and intensity finally suffocated North. I've been waiting for something like that for a long time.

The only problem now is that expectations could be raised further and I'm almost demanding a finals win now such was the power and ferocity of our win against North.

Another massive positive is that at no stage did I have to scream abuse at the TV because of another Zac Dawson ****up. He was pretty good as well and that defensive unit is looking stronger by the week.

You demand a lot afl08 - but glad that you're coming around to the team this season

Note the word almost (as shown below)

I'm almost demanding a finals win now such was the power and ferocity of our win against North.

They just punched up some amazing stats on AFL insider. I can't remember them all but in the last 7 rounds we are number 1 for contested possession differential, time in forward 50 and a bunch of other cool things that seemed to impress the talking heads (Lynch, Dunstall, Eade, King). They are actually taking us seriously.

I may sound arrogant but with a good strong pre-season next year we will be unstoppable. The improvements made in the second half of the season if peformed over a full 2013 will give us a good chance of a top 4 finish.
