Possible Changes vs. Port Power

Well we are facing the Port Power with a 6 day break but that shouldn't be the problem. A big task again but we definately have the ability to beat Port. This weeks changes is hard to predict due to injuries but you would think Johnson would be right and Fraser too. Morrison will probably be bought back through Willy since he has had poor form anyway. Egan is also a chance too miss but he regained semi consciousness quite quickly.
Anyway my changes would be:

IN: B.Johnson, B.Shaw, J.Fraser
OUT: S.Woewodin, M.Lokan, J.Rowe

Reasons:
Johnson and Fraser back from injury. If Fraser isn't right then one of Morrison, Rusling or Davis should come back. Preferably Rusling as we needed that 3rd tall forward. Woewodins omission is pretty self explanotry and Brayden Shaw should be able to do a better job than Woey, if not then we have nothing to lose. I wouldn't omit Fanning or C.Cloke, although Fanning is close (despite only having 1 game back) as Fraser should play mostly as the 3rd tall unless we are smashed in the ruck. Lokan adds nothing to the side and didn't impress at all despite limited game time. Rowe needs some time in the VFL to play 100% game time in the middle/wings. I like Rowe at HFF, winning the ball and getting inside 50 though. He needs to work alot on his kicking action it is very hit and miss. He is not a shocking kick of the football, but if he doesn't connect 100% with his kick it IS a shocking kick, there is not much room for error.

Im not expecting either Rogan or BJ to come up this week, BJ has definately got a long injury and fraser just needs to find form and fitness in the Magoos.
Woewodin and Lokan can now join King and Williams in the "Ill never wear black and white again" club. Lonie while being average in the contest has provided that attacking defender the last 2 weeks, and has done it better than crab. If eegs is out with concussion, then id expect Magic to come in as a straight swap. As others have suggested id send Rowe back to the Gulls to play 100% on the wings/in the middle.

Taz in the middle... I have wished that would happen for quite some time... A fit Fraser and Rocca, with the likes of Travis in the mix, would give Mick the flexibility to make such a move...

I agree 100%, if Rusling is selected, throw Taz in there with Buckley... It will kickstar his season and more importantly increase his confidence...

I also like that move on Didak... If only it was more permanent...

Fanning has to go. He just isn't up to it at this point. Unfortunately I doubt we have many options other than rucking Cam as the number one ruckman. Not sure where his relief can come from.

Woewodin should go but I'm sick of saying that. Lokan surely proved once and for all that he isn't up to it but I'm sick of saying that too. Hmm, I think there is a pattern emerging.

Tarrant should be dropped. Won't happen but his game wasn't acceptable. His efforts were haphazard and his kicking isn't AFL standard. He has to be held accountable for crapness the same as the duds. It’s time for serious messages to be sent.

hes trying so god bless him but atm he isnt really what we are looking for in a ruckman, give him a few years before having the supreme guernsey

Cam is competitive. Notice how once he's moved into the ruck our midfield doesn't get smashed? He doesn't let his oponent get an easy tap and holds up the ball very well. If Cam was taller and fitter he would be a superb ruckman.

Chris Tarrant has had 2 poor games in a row now, but he was cleary affected by the flu. You need to a big wind tank to play the way Tarrant does and it is possible the flue hampered his affect on the game. Tarrant's kicking wasn't too bad, he took all his marks almot 50 out on an angle and were all almost there. His chasing wasn't there which is usually a feature of his game. But is nowhere near the form that warrants him being dropped.


Back onto the game I think the defensive matchups should be as follows:
Port will probably play a small forward line
Prestigiacomo vs. Treadrea - Has a good record on him.
Wakelin vs. Lade or whoever they put at full forward
Maxwell vs. Dew
Johnson (if back) vs. Wanganeen
Clement vs. Ebert/Pickett
Lockyer vs. Mahoney/Ebert

Bishop vs. Tarrant
Wakelin/C.Cornes vs. The Clokes/Fraser
We have got to try to force one of Trav/Tarrant/Fraser on to C.Cornes as these are mobile players who can do damage up the ground on the often loose Chad Cornes and also get into dangerous spots inside 50.
S.Burgoyne vs. Didak
Walsh vs. Caracella

Cassisi or K.Cornes will play on Bucks.
Holland should play on Peter Burgoyne.

Lokan out is a no-brainer, Woewodin didnt do much last week, while Egan should have a rest after his nose was plastered across his face

i dont know where Johnno and Chad are in relation to there injuries, hopefully they can come into calculations as well
