Lol - your hilarious

You can't answer so you're running around in circles - are you in politics :D
You stated talking defence & now you can't come up with a decent reasoning you start discussing attacks.

Are you now placing Hurley in our forward line?! ;)

Only if you get back to me when Tom Mitchell does the same!!
Whoops -Thought you were talking Sam Mitchell.

No argument from me!

You answered your own question. ;)

Enright isn't a tall defender.

How tall is Mackie? 190cm? because they play henderson as well now along with taylor and lonergan. There defence is holding up so far so there's possible example.

I'm not sure we could play all 4 of Talia, Lever, Hartigan and Hurley in defence but Hurley would probably give more rebound than cheney. The thing we have to consider with getting Hurley is whether it takes away too much salary cap space for any midfielder we target, but we're running out of big name targets this coming trade period so probably not a massive issue. Could Lever actually play as a midfielder or is that another bigfooty pipedream?

Huh?

You're becoming incoherent.

I'm only debating on your M. Crouch vs T. Mitchell post!
I was going of a Wayne's-World post talking about Mitchell being too slow on the mcg come finals. Assumed he was taking Sam nit Tom!

Has Tom even played a final in the mcg?

Hang-on ...... we started this discussion off about potentially trading for TOM Mitchell ......how the hell did you change players to SAM Mitchell thru the discussion of the merits of trading for TOM

And I'm Delusional?????? ......;)

You've got the bull by the tit from the get go mate, it was Tom not Sam.

Mackie plays on mediums & smalls rather than talls.

The issue is all of Talia, hartigan & Hurley are best on talls or mediums rather than talls & then there is lever.

1 tall too many that sacrifices rebound from defense imo.

Ok I will write this slowly.

I can't think of a forward line with 4 talls. Ok - got that bit?

So here's point 2, the one you're ignoring. The best team in the comp across the last 18 months, runs 4 x >190 cm players at any one time through their fwd line. Got that bit?

So here's a question for you - don't you reckon it's worth trying to match that fwd line - or no, f....it, let them keep winning?

On the back of recent events ......just to clarify, which Hurley are we discussing ?

Anthony Morabito was looking the most likely rookie to be elevated following a very good summer but he injured his hamstring in early March and has been sidelined for an extended period. The Dockers might wait to see how he recovers before making a decision on his elevation. Key defender Tanner Smith is ready to be elevated if needed. He spent two seasons on the main list in 2013 and 2014 and has already played two games for the club. He was delisted and re-drafted as a rookie ahead of the 2015 season and was elevated last year before playing a game in round 23. Irishman Sean Hurley and youngster Josh Deluca have both had injury trouble and appear long shots to be promoted in the short-term. New rookies Matthew Uebergang and Ryan Nyhuis have been impressive in their first pre-seasons but both will be given time to develop in the WAFL. - Alex Malcolm

thats the other option.

It's laughable to suggest though we couldn't just replace Cheney with Hurley.

How many finals has Tom Mitchell played on the MCG?! Has even played any?

If you are talking about a slow Mitchell playing finals on the MCG, then most would assume you are talking about Sam not Tom!

Oh and thanks for the 4 tall example!

WTF are you discussing the forward line as I'm not arguing with you about playing 4 taller players in a forward line like we are at the moment - as 3 are very mobile.

You (not me!) raised playing 4 tall defenders. Stay on topic - defenders not forwards.

Talia, Hartigan & Hurley are all suited to playing on talls or mids & then there is Lever. None are suited to playing on smalls, which makes us too top heavy &we would lose rebound,

Oh and thanks for the 4 tall example!
Mackie plays mainly on smalls & is not a KPP!

None of Talia, Hartigan nor Hurley are suited to playing mainly on smalls & are all KPP's.

Your missing or deliberately ignoring my response - I'm naming the forward structure who won the flag last year and is top this year.

Why do you think a team with 4 tall forwards has so much success?

I think you're making too much out of the four tall forwards point, especially considering Schoenmakers hardly played there for them before the finals.

Hawthorn are playing Gunston (193cm - mobile tall more than true tall forward), Sicily (185cm) and O'Brien (195cm, yet to really do much) and Cegler. Seems relatively traditional, especially with puopolo and Breust. You'd play two tall defenders, two mid sized defenders and two small defenders on them.

Why don't you use our forward line as an example of one with four talls? I'm not even being sarcastic.

And I guess the fact no one runs with defenses that tall is the feeling that they would be bringing the ball to the ground and the lack of small defenders would kill them, as would the lack of run.

I guess you could argue that until someone does, there's no evidence it wouldn't work.

thats the other option.

It's laughable to suggest though we couldn't just replace Cheney with Hurley.

Cheney is a lot smaller, plays well below the knees - and hopeful is just keeping that spot warm for Doedee.

Hurley replaces Hartigan. It just seems obvious.

I just think it's lazy thinking. We uncover a gem in Harto, we bring in a jet like Hurley - find a way they can coexist.

Geelong do.

Mackie is 193
So are you suggesting Mackie usually plays as a KPP type... ;)

How a player plays rather than their height is more relevant.
