You answered it for me. There's no point trading for a player that you deep down isn't good enough to play AFL.

I think it's fitting that you and 1970crow share similar names. You both talk ridiculous amounts of smack.

You cannot have a squad of 40 players who are "best 22" players due to salary cap pressures. Remember a fellow called Ivan Maric? Not a patch on Sauce but AFL quality so he left. Players will not sit in the SANFL if they are best 22. The system is designed for depth players. Hawthorn and WCE don't have a squad of 40 as you would have it look, and nor will we, because it's impossible.

Just to reiterate my point... Come to me with 36 AFL quality ruckmen. Can't do it? It's because they are a rare breed and those who are good enough will not tolerate languishing in a seconds comp.

On the Crow Show they had a segment on Justin Reid. He had a giant whiteboard with different coloured magnets all over it with each magnet being a player. Most of it was blurred out though.

As others said - a list of players organised in a particular way, we are only guessing but possibly future trade targets, FA targets etc and a bit of 'ideal lineups' for 2017.

Walshy also mentioned his '2017 vision' and you'd think this was part of that journey.

eg. Golds, Whitifeld, Patfull were all listed together, next to them on the left was the GC listed players of the same size.

It doesnt seem to matter which position they play. Maybe thats the colour coding?

The board is left-to-right by teams alphabetically, then top-to-bottom by height. Blue indicates SA players. Red are old (>28?) players. Yellow are 'highlighted', potentially flagged for trade.

You can't tell much from the board. Trust me, I've looked deeply at what it says.
