Interesting listening to new St Kilda find Josh Bruce 22y.o. [Ex GWS] interviewed this morning saying he reckons there's plenty of talented young players just like himself at GWS that are not really getting a fair go commensurate with their abilities that would most likely welcome a move to clubs where they would actually get a chance at AFL level.

Hope we are running a fine tooth comb over their list for players that would suit our needs.

It's hard to knock Aish I think he is only 19. Last year he averaged 17.6 disposals over 21 games. He won 2 premierships at Norwood as a teenager. At under 18's he had 86.7% kicking efficiency.
Never ignore 2nd year blues for any player

At the moment, imo jj is more valuable to us than aish.
He is because of our lack of quality KPP ....have high hopes though for both Dear and McGovern, Mcgovern it appears doesn't have to play as part of his contract???

We are taking a conservative approach with the 1st year players. Ie. The long game.

Does the club list how far off Lowden McGovern & Kerridge are from playing sanfl anywhere on the website? I'm really keen to see them play in the sanfl.

If getting Carlisle meant giving up JJ, id do it without thinking twice.

Where did JJ come from? Do you think he would want to go back there?
It seems improbable because didn't he leave for lack of opportunities and surely the Bombers would never up Calisle to get back a player they once had!
Stranger things have happened but I'm not sure that scenario would play out.

I think kerridge was due to return this week.

Lowden not too far away.

Not sure on McGovern.

Sure another poster does though...

We tried for shoenmakers last year & hawks willing to trade but he wanted to stay.

Wouldn't rule out gorringe,
Gorringe is now no go ......has shown by his actions with Port that he has an attitude problem

Plus listening to last weeks GCS game think it was Brereton was highly critical of Gorringe's lack of work effort & team work

We've drafted enough KPP to not have to worry about Mr Gorringe now

Probably just a case of the draftees coping differently to the significant rise in fitness, dedication etc required at an AFL club.
Agreed .....but also in addition if the club has uncovered a uncut gem

But that doesn't appear the case with Obrien ?
Horses for courses depending on the player & their body's readiness. Don't want them breaking down ny pushing them too hard too early. It's about the long game!

O'Brien was playing solid footy last year & body ok to go.

Agree gorringe is very unlikely.

Just not willing to completely rule him out as an option.

I like your optimism and I hope you're right but I highly doubt it.
Not optimism .....been watching long enough to see that Obrien has some excellent attributes

Why did Obrien get a crack at the NAB in preference to Osbourne ??? .....who'd you think has a mature body & should be more advanced than Obrien ?

Ohhhh, I thought you were talking about a draftee that hasn't played yet :$

No you must have missed what was being discussed before, Using JJ and another pick as trade material to get Aish, saving our first rounder for Carlisle, IF it ever came to that.

Our heads are probably in the clouds though...

Motlop and cats first for.....
If it came down to that, and that pick allowed us extra bait to get Aish and Carlisle over the line, I think I'd almost be satisfied. Out: PD, picks. In: Motlop, Aish, Carlisle.
