Ramsey will fill one of thoes key spots.
I see Ramsey as more of a Jack Gunston type. Tex Walker will be the power forward, what we need is an upgrade on Josh Jenkins which could've been your Harry Dear type.

You three are very harsh on Tom Mitchell. Will turn out to be a very very good footballer.

Don't think that there is anything wrong with his kicking. Not a strength of his, but not the liability either. Think it has a lot more to do with the fact that he has to play in the NEAFL every week which would be a massive disadvantage. Has only played 20 games, but once he gets comfortable with the speed and gets quicker with his decision making will be a very good player.

Azza - disagree with him not being a 2 way runner. I remember his 2nd career game against us in 2013. 31 touches, 10 tackles, 5 inside 50's and 3 rebound 50's. Was everywhere that day. Think he is just struggling to make it into that awesome Sydney Swan team

When he can't get a game over someone like Harry Cunningham who got 3 touches in the grand final, then that says something. Not to mention the likes of Jake Lloyd, Henney and can't even replace an injured McGlynn.

I think the writing is on the wall. He may well rack up tackles while he's in close and there's no doubt he's a great in and under player. But it's his defensive side that lets him down most, in addition to his kicking. Longmire obviously wants a lot more from his starters.

Trade kerridge?for spud gibbs? Are you on drugs? Kerridge has way more upside than gibbs especially under the walsh game plan. Gibbs has done nothing in his career. The gibbs boat has sailed long time ago. We've only seen glimpses of Kerridges potential.

If this were true (not saying it's not) then why would we wanna give them Kerridge plus a pick? Kerridge should be a leader of the club within the next couple years and not to mention he can win games off his own boot and we need a long term tagger now that VB is done in that role it appears.

What are you suggesting? They're not just going to give them away. I imagine they'd potentially think a tagger and a second is way under Gibbs' value.

You're clearly an excellent judge of football talent.

Our midfield is really starting to take shape, along with our defence. Once those parts of our teams are solidified, we will need to start looking at other areas to improve. A crash n' bash forward who can also relief ruck to good effect is probably one of those areas.

Jenkins is great to have, for now and I'm a for having him in the side. I worry though that if he continues with this 'playing like Jane' attitude, then the club will be looking to upgrade.

First priorities for us have to be key power forward and big key defender. If we can even land one of these itl be a huge boost for our club.

Hartigan fits the bill for now in terms of a 2nd key defender behind talia and we may not need another if he comes along nicely. I don't personally want to be using lever as a KPD. He should be our 3rd tall / intercept player and allow Cheney to role over and give the medium talls / utility mids a hard time having an impact forward.

AFL standard backup would be nice to have though. Siggins is probably on the delist heap, who knows how Otten and Shaw will return, we can't bank on them. Ramsey can play back, but looks to be groomed for a forward role, so another back wouldn't go astray.

In terms of forwards, dear has just gone down with another shoulder which is an unfortunate blow. ROB and Lowdens impact as forwards is relatively unproven still, so we may still be okay for now if one of them shows a bit. As I just mentioned though, I could very easily see the club wanting to upgrade on JJ sooner rather than later if we really want to be a genuine threat.

Jake Carlisle would make all of this go away...

JJ keen to return to the bombers? A sando like full circle (Adelaide, Collingwood, Geelong, Adelaide)

I would rather not sell off JJ, it feels as if some had their way he'd be shipped off for a third round pick.

Get stuck in next time then mate, and I would probably agree that it's unders for Gibbs but as a Crows supporter Kerridge fills a need we don't really have or won't have many of soon where Gibbs is very similar to a few we've got in our 22.

I'm happy to keep JJ but putting him to one side it would be nice to have a big guy again like Tippett to clunk marks, attract two defenders and crash packs

Tex is the roaming CHF (love his ability to get the ball up the ground and deliver into the 50) then either Lynch or Ramsey (Gunston v2) as the third tall

agree - priorities to get another gun key fwd, then more midfield depth with outside slant then key defender depth as I think talia, hartigan and lever can be our first choice key defenders

Yeh lever would be great as a 3rd tall much in the otten mould. Shaw and siggins will be delisted if they dont play games this year. Jj is valuable and has only played 50 games but just doesnt do what we need him to do atm. Hopefully we see a few packs crashed and clunkers taken by the big fella

Would be interesting to see what the mysterious Lowden can do up forward. if he actually exists.

Vision from training yesterday had him training with the main group in a couple of drills, so he seems to actually exist!

Wouldn't Michael Talia have come in handy and he was gettable if McCartney had retained the coaching gig at the Bulldogs as he wanted out if he was staying, new coach in Beveridge who obviously recognises real talent and plays him and we can now all see the talent on display. So much for those on our board who reckoned he was a spud, their real busy wiping the egg off their faces.

Caught up with a mate who is heavily involved in the TAC-AFL talent pathways (and has been for 20 odd years), his comment, "Dylan Shiel will be back in Melbourne next year. He's a grub." Does not have a high opinion of Dylan Shiel as a person. Bloody good footballer though.

His disposal is still average at best. Similar kick to Daniel but less distance. Good competitor though and nice size at 194 cm.

Gibbs is nothing like what we are already have. He fills a huge hole in our list
