Pretty sure Kerridge is everything you just mentioned if not more then an elite runner too. Only thing Menzel has going for him above Sammy is being a lefty
Menzel is a gun and you are under rating him quite severely. A better team and some more consistency would see him develop into the wingard ilk imo

Has anyone considered McDonough from Richmond an SA boy who has struggled to break into the side but started his career quite well a prospect and wouldnt cost too much?
Already have enough short people as it is. Think M Crouch is a more preferable option.

Pls, Troy's natural ability would be up there with Eddie and Tex, albeit in a different way.

I've no doubt he could be as good as Jack Gunston (sorry to use that name).

Am I missing something? Carlisle wants out because his club is terrible.

And he wants to go to Carlton? The only reason I can possibly think of is that he shares the first four letters of his surname with them.

What you're missing is that Carlisle actually wants to go to the Bulldogs, but so far the Bulldogs aren't interested in him - which could be a negotiating tactic, but might not be.

With Crameri on their list it would be a massive risk investing in another Bomber

This was a couple months ago now, but I overheard a conversation with his mother (from her end, not his) on a Monday following a bad loss, and he was clearly very unhappy at Carlton. She told him to 'ride it out' and the conversation was about his less than perfect relationship with the coach. Fast forward a few weeks and Malthouse was gone.

Can't really read too much into that, mind you. Dare say most at Carlton didn't enjoy their time under Mick. Wonder if he's still 'riding it out'?

Has been in the twos for a number of weeks now, so probably probably wouldn't take to much to extract him, is an absolutely awesome talent as a mid sized forward. Would jump at the chance of bringing him back to Adelaide.

He would be a fantastic get... and exactly the age profile/skill level of player we should be looking to attract.

Can only keep our fingers crossed.

They're shit, but at least they're not drug cheats, or sheltering them.

Haven't both he and his brother already had multiple knee recons?

He's got the potential to be a star - he's also got the potential to never reach 50 games due to dodgy knees.

Kerridge will be a solid 150 game player - at the worst.

Personally if we don't see Kedge in our future plans I'd be happy to take the punt on Menzel. I'd rather Yarran be part of the deal.

The Brisbane Lions have officially parted ways with former captain Jed Adcock as reports of another player exodus continue to dog the club.

Lions coach Justin Leppitsch, who has been battling to stem the tide of player departures since he replaced Michael Voss at the end of 2013, told Adcock this week that he was no longer required at the club.

The latest Lion weighing up his future is Jack Redden, who comes out of contract at the end of next season. Leppitsch and the 24-year-old, who battled injury last season, are expected to meet in the coming weeks with the club determined to retain Redden.

James Aish and Matthew Leuenberger are both quitting at the end of the season, having made their intentions clear for some months. The club has had seven top 30 draft picks depart over the past three years with the most disastrous exodus coming at the end of Voss' final season when Jared Polec, Sam Docherty, Patrick Karnezis and Billy Longer all quit with Brisbane failing to achieve adequate compensation for the promising young group.

The Lions have cleared the air with departing ruckman Leuenberger, who is now attracting interest from several clubs including the trade-restricted Swans. The Lions are determined to negotiate a high draft pick in exchange for the free agent.

With football operations boss Dean Warren resigning last month, player welfare boss Manny Lynch has been told his full-time services will no longer be required. Lynch, the brother of triple premiership forward Alastair, could remain a leadership consultant to the Lions.

The Lions will officially bid for a priority pick on the basis of their player retention issues and the fact only two first-round draft choices will remain on their list once Leuenberger and Aish leave.
Redden could be an OK get if he wants back. Adcock a bit too old at 30 probably, not sure why he's getting the boot.

No priority pick for the Lions though, they'll get pick #2 for Luenberger, that's enough AFL assistance right there.

Not sure how they can get #2 for Leunberger. Bloke is an average ruckman with terrible injury track record. Surely no one will offer a big enough contract to warrant first round pick compo?!
