Strategy Post game drinking options

I'm one of those organised types who likes to know of a few boozing options when in a foreign city....

Before I go doing some research to see what's in the greater area around the MCG can anyone suggest some watering holes where there may be one or more of the following:

- fellow Freo supporters
- fellow BF tragics
- good selection of rum
- party atmosphere
-minimal hawks supporters

We have the pre-game drinks underway and organised thanks to Seppo , I'd love to know if anything similar is being sorted post-game, win lose or draw !

My night after the prelim was fantastic. Spent it like paper but only ended up dropping $150 including a grouse dinner. But does anyone else, I'm talking about us young punks, feel a bit under pressure to do something huge this weekend if we manage to win it? I mean, my favourite haunts don't feel like 'enough' considering how momentous it'll be.

Just found out a mate was able to get us invites to team dinner after game woo ****ing hoo! Not cheap, but still, Fekkin awse... hope meet for a quick drink before I need to suit up for dinner

Imperial Hotel on Spring St was packed full of Freo supporters after the Geelong win in the 2012 finals and is generally a no fuss pub, close to the G as well.

I was under the assumption that there would be an official party organised by Freo/AFL but sounds like thats not the case?

Generally there's a Grand Final dinner for both teams at separate places- always been the case. Have seen little about it though on Facebook.

This sounds right up my alley - not concerned about the official dinner being arranged as mine will be the liquid variety.....followed by a kebab !!

Other non vic clubs who get into GFs have a post game event in Melbourne for any members who wish to attend. They are generally held at the tennis thing (whatever it is called now) over the road from the MCG. A couple of eagle fans told me not to go if your team loses as it gets depressing. The players usually put in a 20 min appearance beford going to dinner. I am not sure if any other non vic clubs have ever skipped this before - but hey.

Also, many of them have held a members brunch before the game.... much less organised and intense than the big club breakfasts.

To be honest I think we may be trailblazers in not having any function in Melbourne for members either before or after the game.

For any dockers guys in melb I am at the main bar at the langham hotel drowning my sorrows. It is a quiet bar, but the drinks flow quickly. happy for in Freo supporters to join me.
