We had some poor players and some excellent contributors. The umpires got caught up in the whole Melbourne/Big Freeze occasion. I don't know why the Big Freeze is not between Essendon and Melbourne. It should be their day. It appears Collingwood need to do the selfless thing there and it is not appropriate. I have a good friend who died recently of MND and he was an Essendon fan and would have loved a Dees and Essendon game.

Our effort was the best of the year, we were overrun by a much much better team (Melbourne have top 4 talent, we dont) and we were going to lose by 30 points at the start of the last quarter, but we hung on really well. I am proud of the boys today, played much better than i expected.

Take it from a guy who follows a team that is always getting screwed by the umpires... Collingwood got absolutely screwed by the umpires in the dying stages tonight.

You guys should have won that game, the umpires' hearts were certainly "beating true for the red and the blue", jesus...

Kirby should have played ahead Brown and Ramsay should have played over Smith or Langdon. Brown didn't offer anything up forward and pushed around easily in the contest. Both Langdon and Smith are poor defensively aren't damaging enough offensively and slow.

Need to be able to win those in spite of the umpiring. We need to be able to create our own momentum. Leaders and coaching staff need to motivate the players at critical times... do we have a sports psychologist yet?
