yep...he took a big step backwards today...kinda sad, after last week I thought he was ready to explode..
Why would you think that given he was putrid in 2 games leading up to last week?????

Thought we were largely good. Didnt do enough on the scoreboard when we had the momentum, or rather allowed them easy goals, made bad errors in the back half- Adams twice and Sidebottom, as well as free kick goals we gave away (the Dunn one was horse shit). Thats the game.

Big upside to us though, need Elliot back and one more dangerous fwd.

He is a good over head mark. Fairly accurate set shot. However he can't tackle, they don't stick. He has the awareness of a water hog in national geographic film, always gets nailed in tcakles, and is a soft runner when he doesn't have the balL.

Its heart breaking after a loss to be so perplexed at the umpiring. And to then be told that your observations are unjustified and afl umpiring just fine. Bull####. Too many games are being influenced from umpiring. You should be upset.

This. Perfectly summed up. My feelings in a nutshell.

Honest question FAIRBALANCED.........thoughts on Langdons first game (not being a smart arse)?

This notion that umpires don't influence the outcome of games is absurd! So if the ump had plucked a decision out of his backside and awarded Greenwood a free rather than penalize him and we won the game, are you saying Melbourne would have no grounds for complaint?

Not at all, we f'd it up in the 3rd quarter by being defensive and going away from the style of play we had in the first half. We closed shop in the 3rd and it cost us...dont blame one decision, we should never have been in that position in the first place....

Easily WOG. He was deplorable today.

I stood up for him last week and then he goes and dishes up probably the worst individual performance I have seen for some while. He turned it over at will, with a fair chunk of those directly leading to goals.

I'd like to know the goals from turnovers stats as I'm sure that was the difference today

Question marks on whether a few on that list make it long term e. g Smith and Crocker..... but the rest look like long term players IMO

And there is some potential debutant players still to come in at some stage this year like Daicos, Kirby... and of course inexperienced players like Cox and Ramsay still developing at VFL level
I agree. Crocker is not in th every 22. In fact, I wouldn't be surprised if he isn't at the club end of season. Smith is 'serviceable' and just depth. I also don't think he will be best 22 next year.

People gave Crocker votes today....not sure what game they were watching

I thought Langdon was atrocious. Yeah yeah, first game back in overall year... Clearly not ready to go.

And would not have been picked if not for the Sack's injury. We just had no alternatives. Good to see him back but he still looks a fair bit off the pace.

No doubt good sides play well enough to get the points regardless of a couple of umpiring decisions, however this seemed more prominent than just a couple... there were multiple alone in Q1, let alone the last quarter when it mattered most. It seemed as though Melbourne winning was on the AFL's agenda given the occasion and cause.

Do we get a congrats for clearly being the better team in the first half?
Knock yourself out,if it makes you feel any better.
Unfortunately for us it's the score at full time that is important, was our game to loose at half time....

Adams needs seroius work on his kicking for 2018....we wont play finals again this year, but we need him to improve for next year, otherwise go back to GWS for Kelly and our first pick

I'm not sure he's necessarily a BAD kick..it just seems he thinks he's a better kick than he is...his decisions about where to kick it are often very dubious. Lotsa worse kicks than Adams take the long kick down the line option and never get called out...

It's when he tries to kick the leather off it and daisy cutters. It goes to shit then. Needs to back it off a bit.

Looked a step behind the pace, first kick was shithouse, still did a few classy things and a couple of brilliant holding the ball tackles.

In such an intense game he was about as expected for someone who hasnt played for a year. He will come good.

Your thoughts on Scharenberg?

The persistent talk about umpires is, I think, a bit sad. Our midfield needs to accept responsibility for this. They didn't give us first use out of the centre in the second half, and they struggled to get their hands on the ball at all in that half. It was clear at the start of the season and it's painfully clear at times like these: our offense and defence will struggle if the mids don't get and move the ball freely.
