What's wrong with Griffen? Kraks I've seen arguments for and against, but I'm sold by him over Skipworth (just), and Fev is Fev- I walk past his restaurant on my way to work every day, so I feel like we're almost neighbours. And everybody needs good neighbours. Yanno...

Veszpremi will be out for month or two with a finger injury, and Trengrove is undertaking 'ongoing rehabilitation' for both knee and hammy, so lose them. Aside from that, pretty neat squad- you are exposed up forward- Lucas I'm unconvinced by (although he may still sneak in to my team...), but you've got the holy trinity of cheap forwards, so you won't miss out cos all your opponents will have them as well...

I had griffen last year and he is inconsistant for that value one week he would score 100+ the next week he would score 50-60 so beware of that

Backline looks good though I'm not sold on Adcock and I'd consider Petrenko over Rance. Midfield looks perfect. Similar to mine in terms of balance of spending. Tbh I don't see Ottens doing that well this year but there arent really much better options around his price. Trengrove and Sellar should go for 2 of Currie, Graham, White and Jacobs.

Also not sold on Lucas and Vezpremi up forward but the rest look good.

Also what are peoples thoughts on Dal Santo? Not many have him. I'm considering Kerr

nice team drummond is the only worry weather he will play 22 games this year is questionable its one of those risk rewards if he has no injuries it would be a reward for your team. wouldnt worry about kerr to much of a risk.

Saints87: Backline looks great, but your forwards are a bit weak. 2 premiums may not be enough. I'd say downgrade one your mids, probably Cross to someone around the 480 mark (Kerr?) and upgrade Roughy to Deledio or something?

Here's my team anyway, just some thoughts on it please:


Backline is pretty standard it seems, Malceski and Raines are sorta risky but should step up. Hill or Suban should play every week.
Mids are probably my weak spot at the moment, but I don't see that as much of a problem as there are plenty of mids I can upgrade to that can average 90+ Kerr risky but I think he'll show some maturity this year and have a blinder
Rucks, not sure about the emergencies, Cox self explanatory, McIntosh should go alright.
Forwards, well the first 4 are the best four forwards there I think, Riewoldt will probablt start slow and I'll most likely upgrade to him anyway, Lance is a freak, Harvey has averaged 110 past 3 years or something, Lids should really show how good he is. Houlihan and Higgo are my risky players, not sure bout Houlihan but Higgins looks the stuff. Then Ziebell as a rookie.

I don't think Dangerfield will play in Round 1, so maybe a change there? I can see why you're a fan though, looks like a young gun and should get a chance sometime during the season. Starting with two inexperienced/new players in your midfield seems very risky, but hey, no guts no glory I guess.. I'd be almost inclined to drop down one of your 'premium' forwards and get some cash that way..?
I've had a look around and everyone seems keen on Raines, but he's just never a player I've liked/thought he was value, I think it's premature to be thinking he's a lock for every week as well, meh, those on FanFooty (and other wheres) get an idea in their head, it becomes popular and bang...... oh well, he can tear it up, average the 80-odd everyone seems to be expecting and go around without me lol. Anyhoo..

- In a move away from my 'traditional' tactics, gone for a couple 'roughies' here. Selwood and Cornes are the consistent stayers who should net me 95+ per game. Griffen seems to my eye to be ready to go bang competition-wide, hoping it translates to points here. Pearce ended '08 sensationally, liked what I've seen pre-season and he can kick goals. Him or Boak - went for Danyle. Brent Reilly just needs to stay injury free (touch wood) and his price is a steal. Didn't really want to start a first-year player on the ground and was unsure of who, but Rich seems to be an ok option?

- Cox is always first picked and impossible to get rid of for mine. Originally I had Simmonds and then Paul Johnson backing him up, but from what I've seen of M. Blake of late, I'm expecting to see him score better this year and the money saved I spent elsewhere

Pavlich - Franklin - Richardson - S. Johnson - D. Thomas - Higgins - Skipworth (Ziebell & T. Walker)

Pav, Buddy, Richo, Stevie J - loving how that looks. Big fan of Daisy. Higgins seems the 'cash cow', I'm not a fan of Skipworth (that's a lot coming from an avid Dons fan), but his value was too good to be overlooked imo.

My midfield is eating a lot of cash, but I was hoping to nab those three top Cats from the start and just have them earning points from Round 1. It does however mean that my forward line is somewhat weak. I'll consider losing one of the Cats to upgrade one of those mid-tier forwards for a Buddy or someone, but I think Cox is locked in after some indecision!

Great side IMO. I'm not real sold on Chappy, i think there is better value out there for the pricetag, but otherwise it looks great.

How come everyone is so keen on Malceski? I know he was injured last year, was he a good scorer previous to that?

malceski was a 90+ scorer before his injury so thats why people would be quite keen
take grimes out because he's injured.

not sure about raines and adcock...or hasleby...and tuck is always a question mark.

just be careful with tuck and hasleby.

i like the forwardline, but ziebell is no certainty

I would change your entire ruck setup to something like
Cox - Leunburger - Spencer - whoever

Good squad but i have a few queries about it.
I'd take out hawkins, way over priced and doubt he will play many games, will be in an out of the squad very regularly.
Your rucks are seem ok but i'd take kosi out there are some better ruck man out there for similar prices.

Might need to really re-think the defence there. Walker is only an emergency and Symes has been injured all pre-season and will most likely not be playing round 1 or 2.

Having Luenberger on the bench is just way too much money for a bench player. Downgrade him to Jacobs and spend the money upgrading everywhere. Your team only has 5 gun players thats far too few to compete.
