Ticky was 100% spot on. I don't hate GC at all, it was purely in reference to GC being a potential competitor re father/son.My apologies , but i was asking the other poster why they said it

Personally, I dislike them because they are wasting the AFL's money. The GC has always been a black hole for sport, and the AFL should cut their losses and try something different.Ticky was 100% spot on. I don't disagree with you there, they have been a costly 'investment' so far and haven't yet returned on that investment on or off the field.Personally, I dislike them because they are wasting the AFL's money. Might find it tough to get another gig.Leigh Tudor being let go by the Bombers after a poor VFL campaign.
St Scum over the last 10 years have been pumped up more money wise than them and then wasted money on Seaford then got the state gov. to put in millions at Moorabbin , absolute basked case .Personally, I dislike them because they are wasting the AFL's money. I’m late to this party but for me Mumford by a mile. Not just because we have struggled for rucks since, but also for that big unit enforcer role. We were physically smashed in 2014 GF and we needed him. Would Mills have been targeted v Carlton a few years ago if big Mummy was there? And if they did Mumford would have gone straight in.With the news of Buddy's retirement it got me thinking about a question I'd like to pose to folks on here...
Which Swans player's departure (either by trade or retirement) do you think we have been impacted by/struggled to recover from the most?
For mine it has to be Nick Malceski. I don't think we realised how much we relied upon someone providing that penetration and ability to slice open a team's set up with just one kick until Malceski was gone. It really wasn't until 2021 when we started to see a bit of it from Dawson, Blakey, and subsequently McInerney, Florent and last year Fox that we finally picked back up in a rebounding sense.
I'd also throw in Hanners. I don't think JPK became any less of a player once he lost his partner in crime, but I think he became a little less effective once he lost his partner in crime. That one-two punch of "JPK to Hanners" that became so synonymous with our successful era was suddenly gone. IMO it's not a coincidence that Hanners last good year in 2017 was also the last year we had a great midfield.
Yep, for me it's the self-inflicted wounds. It's the giving pick 7 & Jack Bowes to Geelong for a future 3rd round pick. It's the sacking Guy McKenna after getting them to their highest ever ladder position. It's the trading pick 2 for Lachie Weller at the eleventh hour of the trade period. It's the Karmichael Hunt deal. And so on...Personally, I dislike them because they are wasting the AFL's money. The GC has always been a black hole for sport, and the AFL should cut their losses and try something different.
It's having an unintended negative impact on the swans as well. GC continue getting high draft picks, losing developed stars to Victorian clubs, handing over high picks to other clubs and continuing to finish lower than us, hence pushing us a pick back hypothetically, and all of the benefits from their ineptitude is being syphoned off by Victorian clubs. Making their lists stronger at our expense.Yep, for me it's the self-inflicted wounds. It's the giving pick 7 & Jack Bowes to Geelong for a future 3rd round pick. Why root for a club to receive help when they can't even help themselves?
You are in overdrive with this stuff , it's a national compIt's having an unintended negative impact on the swans as well. We need to figure out how to get in on some of that action.
Well someone's benefiting from GC. Given GC havent made finals since inception, its not them. And it ain't us. Therefore, their inclusion in the competition has a negative impact on our ability to put together a premiership-winning team. You are in overdrive with this stuff , it's a national comp
Do a list of GWS THAT'S DAMINGThis is a pretty decent list of players developed by GC who ended up on other lists.
Josh Caddy
Charlie Dixon
Dion Prestia
Steven May
Tom Lynch
Jaeger O'meara
Izak Rankine
I will concede, we have benefited from GC. They drafted ruck jesus, although, he passed through a few sets of hands before landing at the swans.
GWS are just as much a part of the problem I'm taking about. Both clubs have been feeder clubs (primarily for Victoria). All they do is draft and develop players who go to clubs other than the Swans - proving my point.Do a list of GWS THAT'S DAMING
I think you made a mistake.GWS are just as much a part of the problem I'm taking about. Both clubs have been feeder clubs (primarily for Victoria). All they do is draft and develop players who go to clubs other than the Swans - proving my point.
This list below was done prior to the 2021 draft period. Additional names are Jeremy Finlayson, Bobby Hill, Tim Taranto and Jacob Hopper.
Absolutely damning and puts us at a further disadvantage.

That's worse than Gold Coast.19 Years since Essendon won a final
I feel ripped offNow that we've been without Franklin for a while, why haven't Mclean, Amartey and McDonald all been kicking 5 goals a game each?
Surely we've had exit interviews what is HAPPENING
When is the Skilton this year?IIRC in previous years we celebrate the year at the Skliton with all players before announcing departures.
Its a classy thing to do imo.
When is the Skilton this year?
Surely they live stream it this year, thought it was a bit pathetic by the club not to do it last year. When is the Skilton this year?
