On paper, not a bad option. But I'm convinced Ellis won't make it. Is incapable of putting on muscle mass. His awareness and composure in game has only gone backwards. Junior gun who just isn't smart enough for AFL. Richard Douglas board.

Oh man, Prismall, get real. A fringe player at 2 clubs now and a shitty attitude.

Id argue Ellis is a fair way behind Douglas. No thanks.

Sam Fisher & Jack Trengove - would be my two first priorities...

Yes, Ive been wondering if we'd have a crack at Jack, absolute quality player. But what are you prepared to lose to get him?

He is under contract, and we've got nothing that they'd want. Nothing.
Disagree. Their key defenders aren't setting the world on fire.

Would we give up Talia and our first rounder for Trengove? Would they take it?

Dangerfield??? would be my immediate thought...

fisher / rutten (+)

would be near like for like...

Other bait - hmmm?

Maric, L Thompson, Henderson, Moran, Sellar, Douglas, Otten, Knights
McKernan, Schmidt, Symes, Cook...

a spine of Walker, Tippett, S Thompson, Davis, Talia, is surely the future...

Fisher and Trengove would add much needed hardness to the group.

if Walker leaves i'd be hanging onto McKernan

We would give that up, but I think they'd poop themselves with laughter...

Garland, Frawley and Rivers are doing enough for them to not have to worry about giving up their future best player for a tall defender with potential that might not even slot into their best 22 immediately.

I reckon they'd be interested if we threw Dangerfield in too...

Jack Redden should be the first person we should be aiming at. Good, clean inside midfielder who has the potential to be a star, if hes not allready.

Maybe somebody a bit left of field but what are people's thoughts on Brent Prismall?
Hes around 24yrs old i think and plays an insid role like we need.
Ive noticed that he was named in Bendigo's best like every week before he got recalled.
I remember hearing that he was supposebly one of the best trainers during preseason, so why he wasnt playing for essendon early tells me that hes out of favour and has forced himself back in.

Good idea or is he just another average footballer that we dont need?

One good, one not so good.

Redden is an out and out star in the making. He has pace, skill, uses the ball well and is an accumulator of both the hard and easy ball.

He's a gun, and he would be my #1 target. Don't know whether he's contracted for next year or not, but Brisbane would be crazy if they hadn't locked him up for keeps.

I've watched Prismall closely to see why Geelong let him go. Correct decision on their part. Only an average footballer IMO, and we don't need any more of them.

As I (and many others) have always said, beware the fringe star in the star team - definitely rang true on this specimen.

What about Didak? Given the strength of Collingwoods midfield he doesn't seem to get much of a run through there. Has supreme skills which we need, but at 27 might be getting on? But given our lack of experience might not be such a bad thing.

I was just throwing the Prismall idea up as hes a inside mid which is what we need.
Although i think he has a bit to offer, i dont want the club to trade in a player who just ends up being a fringe player at Adelaide.

Apart from Redden are there any other mids that Adelaide should be keen on, peferably South Australians?

Never going to happen. I think we’d have more hope of extracting a stripper of our Hugh Heffner than getting Didak out of Collingwood.

The thing is do Collingwood need Didak? They are so good they could use him to rebuild before they drop. The issue is we won't have the low draft pick that would tempt them.

And we thought Carlton tried to rip other teams off, getting Didak out of Collingwood would be like handing over 2 top 3 picks.

I also don’t believe the current administration has the gonads either to attempt such a thing.

Didak's problems aren't opportunity related. He's reached an age where talent alone isn't enough. Just doesn't care enough and his off-field preparation is average. He's getting found out by more aggressive and athletic opponents.

Add to that he seems like an absolute tosser. Don't want him anywhere near our kids teaching them how to drink, drive and crash.

Right on all accounts Macca.

Redden's feature for me is his soft lightning quick hands. His toughness, tackling and hands make him a great inside mid.

And yeah, Prismall is Symes.

Does that mean we get rid of Stiffy and Armstrong?
We all have friends and relatives who have been sill enough to drink and drive.

Armstrong? yes please

About a week ago I watched the SANFL highlights and saw Armstrong in action for North (v the Bays IIRC) and he must have had close to 15 kicks that hit a target. At the time I thought that was more than I'd seen from the Crows in a month!

Clearly there are some issues with Armstrong (discipline, size, intensity) but he does have a weapon in that right foot and in the right side could definitely play at AFL level.

I think we should go hard for the 2nd 2 picks in the GWS mini draft this year. The 1st will be a super deal that would land O'Meara so I say target the next 2 if GWS want to use 3 this year and save 1 for the year after.

I propose we trade Vince to Essendon for there 1st rounder, that would be late teens I would think.

Then package that up with our 1st rounder (pick 10-12 most likely) and throw in the steak knifes of Maric and Sellar who would provide depth to the young team.

Them 2 picks would get us Any of Kennedy, Grundy, Yarran etc.

Do you think that would be fair or am I off the mark :D
