Does that mean we get rid of Stiffy and Armstrong?
We all have friends and relatives who have been sill enough to drink and drive.
I think Didak's in a different league when it comes to that sort of transgression. There's drink driving, and then there's hitching a ride with a gun-toting bikie etc.

You guys obvioulsy don't hit the Adelaide night club scene very often if you think Didak is the only AFL player that consorts with bikies.

Hi Guys , Sorry for intruding on your board , just wanted to know what the deal is with Talia is he staying/contracted also where he is at in regards to development along with what sort of value he might hold in a trade.
Also would there be any interest in your eyes for some tiger players apart from our top 10 being

Riewoldt,Martin,Cotchin,Delidio,Vickery,Griffiths,Astbury,Rance,Grimes,Batchelor

Out of contract at seasons end, will not be traded unless he wants out. Hasn't given any signs he wants out. You wouldn't even be looking for him if he wasn't a Vic kid in SA.

He is developing nicely considering his injury lay offs. Will be a key part of our defensive unit for the foreseeable future.

His value is worth more than you would be willing to give up.

So your first rounder/compo pick combo won't be enough.

First rounder from 09 - rated as one of the best (if not the best) KPD prospects in that draft. We were going to get a mid but when he was available at our pick stated he was too good to pass up. Has had a lot of injuries since coming over but has worked his way back into some form and got his first game against the Swans, and while he didn't do heaps offensively, was very impressive in his defensive actions, looked very comfortable and didn't look overawed.

We do have surplus of very good talls and one or two may be on the table, but I would suggest, only for a high quality midfielder or a very good draft pick plus a decent player. I would imagine all your high quality mids would be off the table. Talia has not shown any indication he wants to leave so I doubt any deal would get done and given how higly he is rated and how good he looked on debut, unless he was desperate to leave, we wouldn't trade him.

In any case, from all reports, there wouldn't be enough room in front of the mirror at Tigerland for both Deledio and Talia to do their hair:D

Thanks mate great information about the kid, i remember at the time he was expected to go to carlton then they took lucas & we were all shocked.

Would there be any interest in White,Nahas,Webberly,Nason,Connors,Edwards from adelaide do you think ?

Yeah - then 1 year later they tried to get him as part of the Jacobs deal and we said no - so we've already refused to trade him for a 17 game, 4th string (yet highly promising) young ruckman.

Not sure we'd be overly keen on any of those guys. Honestly - what we desperately need is a potentially elite midfielder with outstanding skills or a silky small forward with deadly goal sense. Not sure we'd give up a highly rated 1st round KPD after 2 years who has only just debuted and looked good for any of those guys. Talia, Davis and Luke Thompson will hopefuly be our trio of KPD for the next 10 years.

I don't think you guys would want to give up what we're really crying out for.

E.g. I can't imagine a name like Martin or Cotchin would be brandied around in any sort of trade (I know we'd need to do more than just Talia in any deal like that) but I think where we are at the moment we're chasing the elite (or soon to be) midfielders

I know a few were keen on Edwards at some stage (due to his speed for memory) but not sure we would want to trade Talia now if we do in fact lose Walker.

Connors is an interesting one, after coming back from been suspended last year, he played very well across half back, seem to remember him been right up near the top for the metres gained stat. Don't think he did to well on the wing in the pre season in the game I saw him in (looked a little lost) although I think he was fairly underdone and we haven't seen him since really. What's the go with him? Injured or on the outers?

Cannot see the Tigers and the Crows coming to agreement over a Talia trade. Unlikely to be much motion on our behalf. Hard to see what the Tigers would throw at us. It'd have to be a top tier midfielder or a couple draft picks, including #12. It'd be a major sign of faith from Richmond.

Dan Connore has been injured most of this year, some calf problem i think it was. He was very good last year averaging very high disposals
His major flaw is that he is very flamboyant and tries to do too much like baulk, screamer etc.
He is actually a very good HFF but was being played in defence to strengthen his defensive side, will evenyually end up being a mid/hf

Edwards is an intresting player , certainly capable of becoming a very very damaging inside/outside mid again tries to do way too much rather than taking the 1st option and gets caught or rushed with his kicking, would be extremely damaging in a good team with a good midfield.
Both players in my eyes havnt lived upto expectations but are both still very very young, one of these 2 players will breakout next year i believe but which one Edwards would be my pick.

Richmond needs another tall backman & looks like they are into Jackson Trengove atm but wouldnt suprise me if they ask about Talia as well.
Im sure Adelaide wouldnt want to let him go unless he request a trade but I dont think they would give up a 1st round pick + one of the 2 players named, due to Talia not yet showing a great deal.

I would certainly be happy to give up our 1st rounder for him .

No way would I expect us to get a first round pick + Connors/Edwards, I'm not a Carlton supporter. He is largely unproven and it's the exact reason we wouldn't trade him unless he wanted to go since he hasn't shown why we picked him. If he did go, I believe (hope) we would target a player with good kicking skills as that's what we really need on our list. I would love to get our hands on a Cotchin/Martin/Deledio type of player although I know they would be untouchable...

That's the thing for a player happy to stay at his current club you have to satisfy the club to get him. No way do Adelaide accept a first round pick for a highly touted first rounder who we have plunged 2 years development time into. Would need to be first rounder & quality player which I just can't see Richmond offering.

It's the same reason Port fans laugh at all these first rounder offers for Trengove.

Would the current regime be prepared to off-load a Chris Groom for a kid from the Territory?

Yeah, I think so. McLeod's 1994 for Port Adelaide was better than Ben Kennedy's 2011 for Glenelg. And Chris Groom was solid through injury issues in 12 games for us, but he was delisted one year after we traded him.

Cornes has said he wouldn't have traded Groom, but interestingly he has never spoke of his talent, just his willingness to follow the coaches instruction and improve. We overestimate the level for which Groom was held. I remember in 94 being overwhelmed that we pulled that off.

Your mind is playing tricks.

Groom went to Freo but did an ACL. Was then traded to North Melbourne but did his ACL again. Ended his career.

Don't think we would get a first rounder for Vince..not in his current form and his knee issues.

IMO getting rid of Vince would be a mistake. Has all the tools to become the elite midfielder we need and has shown bits in the last few weeks to suggest hes not far away.
