If we're looking for support for Thommo then I think Colin Sylvia has to be a serious consideration. He looked out of sorts for much of his return match today but there's no doubting he's got experience, ability and a seasoned body.

Also, thinking we may send a ruckman Richmond's way. Who at the Tiges is worth making a play for?

Sylvia was discussed a few pages back. He is good but he comes with baggage and Mel supporters want much more than he is worth. There are also lots of attractive options at the Tiger's but none of them are attainable. If we do send them Maric (I assuming he is what is in play) then it will be interesting to see what we get back.

Which Ruckman would you think would be suitable for richmond and at what cost ?

From the richmond players that may be traded, the only names that i believe that may suit the crows are Connors,Nason,Edwards,Jackson

To be honest I don't think Richmond have anyone the Crows would want, that Richmond would be willing to give up. Give us back what we gave you for Tambling

Sylvia has long been known for his discipline problems, which saw him ordered by a court not to harass his girlfriend after a 2006 incident.

It is believed Sylvia was home around midnight but, given his track record and the use of alcohol, the Demons came down hard.

He has the ability to be a class player, there is no doubt. However, his good is very good and his bad is pretty bad (similar to Vince). He's the sort of player I wouldn't mind making a run at but we aren't in finals contention and we have bigger fish to fry (e.g. Ben Kennedy). Would be costly as well, Demons supporters seem to be under the impression that he has "Scully-like" value (which he doesn't), I'm not prepared to give up someone like Smack and a 2nd Pick (what they seem to want) for a Vince 2.0. We need to look for players that are undervalued by their teams so we can build without overspending for players who don't add that much to our team.

I actually agree with you Vanr88, and dont really think that adelaide have a ruckman that would suit richmond apart from perhaps McKernan but he isnt really a ruckman.

I was suprised with the tambling trade myself & would of thought either connors or edwards would of suited adelaide more than bling.

You guys probably would under rate him but Dan Connors would be a good get for adelaide & would fill the HB role better than bling.

This kid has huge upside & was really starting to get it together until getting injured start of the year.

Would mind a look at Shane Edwards and Daniel Connors. What would you have in mind for a deal involving Ivan Maric. It's not the most attractive deal I know but he would be a serviceable ruck that could fill a need for you guys.

I don't believe that SYlvia will come with baggage, off field he has been pretty good for a few years now and his 2010 form was outstanding and has been good in patches this year

Gold Coast are of course also an option. Young players from the Gold Coast such as Jolly and Gorringe ( Sam Day no chance ) would also be good.

What are the thoughts on McKernan , I see him more a foward than a ruckman do you guys think he could become a Ruckman rather than just a relief ruck if so whats a realistic trade from the tigers for him.

Sorry about the typo, I do that sometimes. Yeah Mckernan has become invaluable to us without Davis (he can go back as well) so you pretty much have no chance on that front. You would have to make a really sweet deal to pry him from our hands at this stage and any such deal would send you backwards rather than forwards. Maric is the best we can do mate ATM, good luck trying to get M. or Z. Clark though (I think M Clark might be going to GWS so you might be out-gunned there unfortunately).

Have to agree with you on the M & Z Clark-e comments as z is contracted & m wants way too much and only GWS will actually pay him what he wants.

But there are still a few options available and some are pretty much free imo such as Blake,Minson along with some cheaper options around the 2nd round picks Hampson & Simpson.

My preffered option would be to wait another year & make do with Browne,Graham & Dericx (not as if we are challenging atm)

Vickery will definately become a good/very good 2nd ruck foward so we really need a 1st ruck & with the quality of rucks that could be looking for more opportunity or coming back home from either wa or gc in gorringe(sa) smith clarke lycett (wc) or even the free agency situations could provide a quality ruck later on when we really need a ruckman.

Curious as to your thoughts of Daw... From the little I have seen of him he just looks like an absolute athletic freak who can do things that someone of his size shouldnt be able to do (I know its a long bow - but its almost lebron james esq)...

Daw has the Rioli quality in terms of if you just see his highlights then he looks a lot better than his overall output suggests. He has amazing athletic attributes and his basic footy skills are improving.

When do you think he will break into Norths team and where do you see him playing - He has the size and speed to play full forward, CHF, CHB and ruck...

I am not sure he will get a gig this year although we have enough on the LTI list so he can be elevated at any time.

His output couldn't be worse than some other players getting games, even if he gets stuff all of the ball. He might be a bit cautious given the media circus that follows him around, which is bad enough for a VFL player, once he starts playing AFL it will get a lot worse. I think Scott would like for him to be absolutely ready to go before he exposes him to that.

Gilbert was almost AA in 2010 and obviously the St Kilda photo scandal has knocked the stuffing out of him

maybe he needs to get out of St Kilda and Melbourne to revive his career
