I am stoked to go to my first ever grand final on Saturday and I also wanna watch the some of the entertainment before the big game starts. Does anyone here know what time they start and which bands will perform and any other things going on before the game. I am really looking forward to this.

In no way am I confident or getting ahead of myself.. But what is the go with after the game?

From what I know, if we win or lose we go from the ground to the Sidney Myer music Bowl..
If we win then at 8pm at Fed square there is some presentation on there.
The next day back at the music bowl for another get together..
Is this all correct?
What about after Fed Square? Where do we go party if we win?

It's funny... I just followed that song to Youtube and it seems that the AFL is using it as its promotional jingle for the finals...

But the funny thing is the video that goes with the song. The video has a number of bumps and clashes that would normally attract the review committee's interest. It's funny how the AFL loves the physical stuff when it is promoting the game but suspends the players that are responsible for it...

Not a fan of the song. Cometti? Seriously? I'm also not a massive wrap for the pre-game entertainment. Don't mind the National anthem (though I think it should be saved for the GF and not played in all the finals), but the rest sometimes gets me frustrated and keener for the footy.

Neither am I. I'm just curious as to what it will be.

INXS were an overrated band WITH Hutchence let alone without him.

Now why not get Dropkick Murphys to come down and play the song the AFL spams on us all the time, it would be awesome. A real band playing real music and not miming.

They are even experienced at playing in sports stadiums.

The pre-game bollocks in a non-pie granny is cringeworthy & avoidable let alone if we are playing. Call me a freak but i had not even given it a milliseconds thought until i read this thread.

Yawn. I'll be in the backyard catching up with family around a barbeque and will probably come in it at about 2:00.

Doesn't the Brownlow Medallist do a lap of honour.

Would love to see the Pie fans give it to Juddy.

Sorry all to bump this thread but Caro has alerted me to a reason to avoid getting there too early:

"The pre-game entertainment will focus on previous grand finals contested by the two clubs."

Hmmm. Let's see how many GFs have been contested by the two clubs...

1966.

And that's about it.

Now I'm hoping that they may give 1990 a run, and that the thing I missed in Caro's description was in translation - that it goes over our 14 flags in the competition. Somehow I doubt it.

If this GF is another chance to stick the knife in and remind people of what happened over 40 years ago, I can't be bothered signing up for that little game.

I hope you were being sarcastic, because that is without a doubt the WORST call i have ever heard in my life. Michael Hutchence and INXS had one of the most unique sounds of any band in history. If Hutchence was still around, Australia's music scene would be far better off.

Anyway, back on topic, I'm thinking of getting there around 12.30, soak up the atmosphere for an hour before INXS come on to pump everyone up.
Going to be huge. cant wait

They usually have the live radio panels outside as well don't they? The Triple M one has been quite entertaining the last couple of years. Will probably watch them till about 1.30 then head inside.

Last years pre game entertainment was awsome, Jimmy Barnes and John Farnham, it would have been sick if they performed this year instead of last last year but I am a fan of INXS as well so it will be alright and it will get my mind of the foory hopefully and calm the nerves down at least for an hour.

I reckon the appropriate thing would be silence over abuse. It was after all the umpires who voted.

I'm not aware of any other player handing his Chaz back so I don't expect Judd to.

Save all voice for the support of the boys.
