Reading the training reports over on the PRE, they pretty much all said that Campbell Grey was 'the standout,' not for the first time. He was so impressive last season coming from obscurity pretty much.

It is going to be very difficult to fit him into our backline, stacked with talls. Could he play wing. Great mover, great off the deck and at 195cm could be a good target up the line, saving our tall forwards from coming up around the wing.

At the moment we have no cemented wing. Hugo has first dibs but is no star. A few other possibilities.

I have long thought that the wing position has been undervalued. Richo showed how important a good wingman could be. You would think a player like Blakey would be great there. Geelong have played Blicavs there over the years. Worth a wisper in Yze's ear?

Gray is probably fighting with Gibcus for that third tall role down back long term.

He's Grimes-like with his long arms and spoiling power. Would compliment Miller well, allowing Balta to play an offensive intercepting role.

That's the same position lol. Broad won't be there after next year so the long-term third tall role will be vacant.

If they both come on and look like they belong I wouldn’t be shocked if they try to push Balta up the ground again

We know he’s pretty effective as a relief ruck and he’s really the type of player who would thrive as the 3rd tall/ ruck relief

The best thing about the 5 man interchange bench is we have players like Gibcus , Balta that could be played in multiple positions and could go in with that extra tall

Also lets players like Balta who can be super explosive be utilised in shorter more damaging bursts right across the game

Indeed. All 4 look worthy of playing, but only 3 will. Then there is Broad as well. Which is why the wing might be worth looking at.
