Simple question, what do you see happening in Cricket over the next 10 years?

For me

- The only form of T20 cricket being played is the IPL and a smaller domestic competition in each first class nation. The IPL will have 12 franchises playing each other once with a final, and at least 1 "home" match for each side will be played on a neutral venue. International T20 will die because of the greed of international administrators having a World Cup every 6-12 months.

- ODI's to be decided over 40 overs (and kept at 1 innings). Most nations will eventually realise that 5 or 7 game series is too boring and will return to a tri-nations/4 nation series. The World Cup to have 12 teams with 2 groups of 6 with semi's and a final. Champions Trophy to go the way of the dodo.

- Associate nations to be reduced after 2 extra test spots are made available by 2015. Zimbabwe by that stage will have returned to the test arena having seen most of the old regime pass their use by date in terms of life rather than time in office. Those that remain associate nations will have visits from academy and A sides of test nations.

- Tests to remain as a 5 DAY (emphasis on DAY) contest, with later starting times depending on local conditions to help appease the media. Each nation to host at least 2 nations per summer, and to make 2-3 away trips per year. With the increase of test nations, only the Ashes, Australia vs India, Pakistan vs India, South Africa vs England and South Africa vs Australia will have a test series greater than 3 tests.

- Dare I dream......International Cricket to return to Pakistan by 2012.

What else do you see in the crystal ball?

ponting will retire after the next world cup i reckon

odi cricket will change to 40 over cricket after the 2019 world cup and that's just about a certainty

australia will win the next world cup and the one after that i reckon.

india will still be a domminate force, but not on the field. once tendulkar and few others retire they will fall by the way side

austrlia will be in the middle of the pack for tests for 5 or so years and after rebuilding they will be back at the top
