Brisbane have prevailed in two very tight close finals games in a row, it wouldn't suprise if they come out a bit flat after the emotional energy they've consumed. Geelong by a fair bit.

Collingwoods game style won't be as effective at the narrow SCG as it is in the open pastures of the MCG, as evidenced by the round 22 game. Swans to win but it will be a bit closer, Swans by 2 goals.

Brisbane are a real danger game for the cats. A lot of players would have learnt from 2020 and Geelong looked shaky at times under finals pressure in week one. Geelong should win if both teams play their best.

I can’t see anyone beating Sydney at the SCG. It would be exciting to see Collingwood win but I believe Sydney will be just too good at home. Still I thought the same about the dees last night so…….

I'm not disagreeing with your post but to play devils advocate, we just broke our last remaining hoodoos (Melbourne + MCG). We've been underdogs in all our finals so far and that won't change next Friday.

It's house money in my eyes, we have nothing to lose. All the pressure is on the Cats and if they start a bit wobbly, we might just out run them to a Granny.

Cats by 20 would be my non-biased tip though.

Not here to share predictions, just to share that these 4 remaining sides have taken 36 Prelim spots out of 80 in the last 20 years.

In the last 20 years, there has been 8 premiers and 10 runner ups.

At least one of them has appeared in 15 of the last 20 Grand Finals.

Absolutely ridiculous data and amazing sustained success, particularly Geelong, Sydney and Collingwood who are the top 3 sides in the competition in terms of Prelim appearances in the last 20 years.

I thought the Dees would get us.. and I was wrong. Now I think the Cats will get us.

Need the same result.

Needs cats to be off.

Geelong 14 preliminary finals: 2004, 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011, 2013, 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019, 2020, 2021, 2022
Collingwood 2002, 2003, 2007*, 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012, 2018, 2019, 2022
Sydney: 2003, 2005, 2006, 2012, 2013, 2014, 2016, 2022
Brisbane: 1999, 2001, 2002, 2003, 2004, 2020, 2022*
Port: 2002, 2003, 2004, 2007, 2014*, 2020, 2021
Hawthorn: 2001*, 2008, 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015
West Coast: 2005, 2006, 2011, 2015, 2018
Adelaide: 2002, 2005, 2006, 2012, 2017
Western Bulldogs: 2008, 2009, 2010, 2016*, 2021*

* Finished outside the top 4

Since 2004 Geelong have only ever had one season with a losing record (2006 = 10 wins, 11 losses and 1 draw vs Melbourne). Every other season they have finished with a winning record.

Since 1999 all teams apart from Gold Coast have made the Grand Final at least once.

When you lose, you learn.
Plus no DeGoey & Ginnivan was subbed out at half time last time we played up there.
Pies by 12.
Cats by 20.

What I hope- Cats and Pies.

What I think-
Reverse of 2020.
Lions- C. Cameron, Hipwood and Daniher to run riot.
Charlie to get NS the week after. He was made for these games

Gallant Pies again.

Will be a GF with both teams having the momentum of games played, plus the fitness and speed to handle it.

With Adams out and Payne not exactly an A grader I think Lions will struggle to match up on the Cats tall forwards. Play like the 2nd half Friday night though and no reason why we can't run it pretty close.

Would this spark a crisis meeting at Spring Street or would the game be quickly billed as Fitzroy vs South Melbourne and great for the fans of these FOUNDATION VFL clubs?

I have no doubt that the majority of the build up will be exploring the origins of both clubs.

I also have no doubt that a temporary rebrand of the clubs to North North Melbourne and Far North Melbourne would have also been floated.
