Nah no GF or premiership, I definately think if we can pinch one of the next two games we could make a prelim. A finish of 5th or 6th will give us a home final and then have to win that game and a game most likely in melbourne (which could happen) then likely to make a prelim, but thats it even that would be a million times better than I expected.

Long way to go yet in the season I am not even confident of making the eight yet.

Call it bravado, call it blind faith, call it stupidity... but I boasted to my homeroom classmates that we'd "at least play off in the Grand Final" after we obliterated the Bullies in Round 5.

A good friend of mine put $10 on the Crows after the loss to Port the week before at 100/1.

I told her that if she wasn't a chick I would have said that she has bigger balls than Johnny Dangerously

Never thought I'd like the taste of it quite so much!! Kind of a bittersweet flavour, like those kids 'Sours' lollies that my sons get. The flavour seems to linger in my mouth everytime Skipworth, Mattner or Doughty touch the ball lately.

I'm thinking of a new Balfours Humble Pie, only sold at Crows home games-It'd be a big seller ATM.

If you end up sending one, please forward me a copy. I just re-read the email I sent him last year and I owe Triggy the same apology :o

My 2 cents:

Top 4 and Adelaide will make a Grand Final. The double chance will give them the incentive to go all out in the first game to win (whether home or away) and if they end up with a home Prelim then definate Granny.

5-6 I think they will make at least the Prelim but dunno about having to play two away finals in a row. History from 97-98 says they eat away finals for breakfast but i dunno about this year.

7-8 I think they will drop out in the first round.

I don't know if we have any chance of a home prelim as it would mean either Melbourne, Geelong or St Kilda would have to have a great run home to grab top spot off of WC.

To be honest, I fancy our chances of winning an away Prelim at the G over a home prelim. If we make top 4, I think we'll probably get bundled out in the PF but if we make 5-8 then I'd be happy just making it to the second week and see where it goes from there.

Maybe not....I didnt say they would win, I said they will go all out to win the first game.

I think if it does come to Adelaide playing West Coast in the QF then you will see the Crows play their best football for the year. They will go all out attack and attack the body extremely hard. A 'surprise' victory would not be beyond them.

If they lose, they get a home game the next week against one of Geelong/St Kilda/Richmond/Port/Kangaroos/Freo which I would back the Crows. Then an away Prelim against Melbourne which would be a bloody good game and again you'd tip the Crows to come out hard.

If the Crows make a Prelim...it wouldnt surprise me at all to see them take out the flag.

I have been contemplating sending one myself :o

I have learned to always trust my instinct and first impressions and after my early praise of NC, I then turned completely off him after that drubbing at the hands of Brisbane at GABBA :o

Triggy will get my email shortly :o

dont you overrate your importance just a little bit, like do you honestly think he cares??

Maybe you could get james fantasia to give triggy your apology?? Just a suggestion.

And anyway, it was the process that was dodgy, not necessarily the coach. They deserve criticism for that. Terry Wallace is doing a great job with a worse team too.

Jack would like to highlight how easily his fellow crows supporters overreact to a couple of wins. There is still this issue of where we are at as a club, and what we need to do to the list to get sustainable success. The major difference between 97-98 and now, and the reason why we are not a chance at a premiership imo, is that we had a young macca, roo, edwards, goodwin, johnson, marsh etc. With also some very good and probably underrated mid-age players like bickley, rehn, pitman, robran, caven, vardy, bond and ofcourse a gun forward in jarman. Look at where we are at now and we are relying on the same names. The only reason we are a chance is the overall weakness of the comp. We need someone like VB to become a kane johnson before the season is out. Blighty is the only coach who has actually played youngsters and look at the results too, we should do the same.

don't be f uckwit all your life Jack.

I think we are barking up the wrong tree here. The thinking, understandably, is that we are not good enough to win a flag. This is absolutely true, we are not good enough.

But, by the same token, you can spend a long time, trying to get ready, to be be deserving, and your time passes you by. Look at the Paps, they were good enough for years, but couldn't get it done, st Kilda is another.

This year, we don't have to be good enough by the standards of previous years; it looks like someone is going to be get a bit lucky ala 1990/97.

If we are in the right place, at the right time, who knows? I'd be very surprised if we did, but I am going to be surpised by whoever takes it out.
WC have won 1 final in 10 years
ST Kilda - how old is Barry Breen these days?
Melbourne - see above
Geelong - oh good lord, surely not?
Richmond - about as much chance as us, and it's still been 25 years since they were even close.

It's going to be a watershed year for someone, and what we need to do is make sure we are right in the thick of things. If we do that, it might not matter if we are not conventionally 'good enough'.

Come and join me on match days in the Rupert Pupkin stand. I'm the one wearing the night goggles.

I'm one up on you and DT. :p

After I re-read my email to Triggy last year, I sent him an apology BEFORE the first game of the year.

Gentleman that he is, he responded too. Our Triggy is a top bloke IMO.

That's about my take on the whole thing as well.

There's no stand-out team this year other than West Coast and they don't play like one in Melbourne.

Let's just concentrate on making the finals, and after that - who knows?
