Hawthorn - bottom side, win means nothing
Bulldogs - bottom side, win means nothing
Fremantle - caught them on a bad day, can't play in Melbourne, win means nothing
Port - was in Melbourne, caught them on a bad day, win means nothing
Carlton - are no good this year, caught them on a bad day, win means nothing
Collingwood - bad team, win means nothing
Brisbane - no good this year, win means nothing

There'll always be something for these people to not give us respect. We'll just have to keep on winning.

Actually the win against the Hawks could turn out to be the defining moment.

Remember the Hawks were winning in the last quarter, and havent been playing badly this year.

A glance at there percentage would tell you that.

We could easily be 5-3 if not 6-2 given results our way.

Richmond to there credit have found a wining edge while we have not yet, itll take us a good year or 2 to find the edge Richmond have found straight away.

No matter the positions of each team on the ladder this year, I am looking forward to compelling battles between the 4th and 5th most biggest clubs-members,supporter bases consistantly 4th and 5th,premierships-I dont count the Dees :) and attendances, as I believe the Saints/Cats thing could emerge between our 2 clubs.

Man I wish we had Tuck.

Remember I called it after the Freo win, this could be a year the Tigers do good things.

Couldn't agree more, the Hawthorn win was huge because it gave us the confidence to get the win in a close game. If the Hawks had won that won, I think the positions would be reversed.

theres a simple response to that hair brained comment...."if every other side had beaten them you silly looking $%&*&, they wouldn't have a win between them"...please refer back to me the collective wins from these sides...

How close were we though to throwing that game away - the kicking for goal was pretty ordinary. We should have won by a lot more. My only negative for tonight, except for the injuries.

If that was Frawley coaching, obviously that would have been a loss. My real negative for the night was how we didnt capitalize when the game was in the balance, we had 5-6 chances to really grab that game but didnt, to our credit we did in the latter stage of the last quarter. Great effort Tiges.

I think what we both did in the draft suited us perfectly.

Richmond got 2 class mid field types in Deledio and Tambling while Hawthorn got big tall players in Franklin and Roughead,Taylor and Thurgood who always take 2-3 years to mature.

Add to that Wallace,Brown and Richo and in theory you should and will have a top 4 side on your hands.

I must hand it to Richmond they have gained a winning culture quickly and I congratulate them for it.

We are 2 years behind the Tigers.

AsI have said on the Hawthorn board, the Tigers winning is also good for us as you guys get all the spotlight, which with Wallace on board should suit you as well.

The only thing Im afraid of, is if you forget that you are still re building and try to top up, next year. But with Wallace at the helm this thankfully is highly unlikley thankfully.

Symmonds was a senstaional recruit for you guys

But you showed the signs of a true side by keeping on coming at the Lions.

Thats what impressed me most. I was expecting the Lions to win that, but you guys whethered the storm and then created a counter strike of epic proportions yourselves.

Top 4 material

The most pleasing thing is that we have found a way to win the scraps as well as the blowouts. Coming off such a low confidence base at the end of last year I thought it was going to be tough for Wallace just to get the team to believe they could win again. Wiining all our close games has been especially pleasing from that point. Wiining or losing the close games can sometimes be the difference between top 6 or bottom 6.

Yeah thanks for that, but the Hawks get more respect from the media than what we do. Hopefully after tonight that will change.

I don't know if you are two years behind, but you're going in the right direction the same as us. Clubs like Carlton still sticking to drafting ordinary players to top up their list will probably take a couple of years to catch onto the fact that what the Tiges and Hawks are doing is the right way to go.

Agree 100%, its something we need to find and you guys need to keep, thats also the differance between a premiership and making the semi finals.

The "us against them" mentality by the Tigers seems to be working again

i think the edge that we have over other emerging sides is that our core of senior players in Richo, Brown, Cogs, Bowden, Johno and Gasper are all playing very good football..both Dogs and Hawks would only be able to highlight a couple of their senior players that are producing the goods...

But also you guys always had a good list, remember you were consistantly in the top 4 in 2001.

Its unfortunate you had a crap coach.

Remember every year the commentators used to say "Richmond has probably got the most dangerous set up", its beacuse your so tall.

That said its those 1st year players that have brought out the bet in these older type players-Brown,Richo,Gasper and even Pettifer.

While we were out and out trash and still are in some departments.

I also think the round 8 curse just like North had with the round 3-4 curse made the media skeptical about how you will go.

Now your past that expect the good media to come pooooring in.

Very importantly Simmons has been very very very very important.

Made the job to cover the Richmond forwards that much more difficult

Yep, he has been really good after a slow start. Our ability to play a very tall forward line can really make it hard for other sides to maintain their preferred structure, it's great to see us setting the structure and forcing the opposition to react, too often in the past it's been the other way around.

Despite what goes on in the main board of BF both the Hawks and Tigers[and Bullies] fans would be happy with their draft picks.
As far as im concerned we got the icing on the cake in regards to our 3rd pick[Meyer]and a vastly improved Pattison. The only disapointment at this stage seems to be Polo who at pick 20 was a suprise at going so high.
The Hawks did well for the future in regards to KPP,s in Roughead and Franklin and i,ve been impressed with Young Taylor[ruck].My only query was the selection of Lewis.he,s going to be a very good player and a hardnut but IMO the hawks needed a fast running type more than a hardnut but time will tell.

just glad to see us beat a team with the big four in it - Voss, Akermanis, Lappin and Black. At times, all four looked to get the ball on a string.

Luckily, our guys also had purplr patches - Cogs in the first, Tuck in the second, and Johnno in the third, with everyone doing their bit in the last.

I agree.

Whoever choose to draft Tuck again desearves a medal
