I also think we need to target Tim Notting and Aaron Shattock. They would be good on our wings. Big kicks into the 50.. Using their leap to drop back in defence to create a contest. And the disiplain and grand final background at brisbane. Cant beat it.

Also i remember that sheedy is looking for a quality midfielder. I think if we can give them tivendale or coughlan then we cna really set up our future as he will give us a few early draft picks which might be a bonus.

Wrenny fair dinkum. You're either too young to comprehend or just plain stupid. For the first time in years we nerture a young star and you want to trade him for some west coast w ankers??? Come on mate, fair dinkum. Mark Coghlan is the best thing to happen to the tiges in 15 years apart from the signing of browny.

He's a gun and we made him. He's our next captain.
Do you expect him not to be targeted by the opposition after his stellar year in 2003 in which he won the B&F? Life will be a little tougher for him from now on and he just has to learn to live with taggers.

FFS wrenny, talk some sense.

Trading Coughlan the future captain of Richmond is the stupidist thing I have ever heard (although everyone is welcome to their opinions)

p.s Chad Cornes is Mr Port Adelaide there is no way he would leave or be traded.
p.s.s Why the hell are we talking about getting rid of Ottens & Coughlan?

Wrenny, thats not just the stupidest post you've ever put up, but the stupidest post I've seen on BF.

The club should do with Cogs exactly what the Eagles did with Cousins. He's the one positive we have for the next 5-10 years.

If we play the way we've started for the rest of the year, you can be sure he'll be tempted by the Westies. But the club needs to do everything it can to keep him, including recruiting a coach that helps the young players believe they will someday play in a premiership team.

Ottens will be harder to keep. He's had enough and he's not afraid to tell anyone that bothers to listen that he wont see a premiership no matter how many more years he plays for Richmond. I cant blame him, but if we lose him, we're more than f#KKd.

The only trade bait we have is Bowden. He's out of contract at the end of the year and he will be playing a blinder of a season to make sure he gets a new one. Which is great because he's going to have his best year, and other clubs willl be prepared to give up something for him. And what's really going to pi$$ me off is that under a coach like Malthouse, Bowden is going to be a consistent star performer. I dont blame him for not performing at his best for us. I blame the coach for not getting the most out of him

Because there are some imbeciles here talking about replacing the whole damn team including it's core which sheer and utter nonsense. Players like ottens, coghlan, brown, johnson, shoudn't even enter discussions about trades.

It's just bull$hit.

Campbell is also out of contract at the end of the season. I'd be more than happy if the club traded him, but they wont get anything for him.

Well said corporal. Our two most gifted young players and people want ot trade them 3 rounds into a season . Wrenny you weren't our recruiting manager in the late 80's? Lounder, Menegola, ....

We still have a whole of guys on our list who aren't AFL standard footballers. They're the ones that need to be shown the door. Last year was only the beginning of the clean-out. Plus if we keep playing this futile footy we won't have the luxury of choosing to finish low on the ladder at the end of the year. We'll be there full stop!

Nope, you won that one after you jumped on the Frawley cant coach bandwagon this week.

Trading Campbell who is past his prime is a better option than trading Cogs who is our future club captain.

Lets go for the pluckaduck for the year award. I'll put down this year as a shocker for Campbell. He's showing the same signs Knighter was in his last days.

I only mentioned ottens because if he wants to leave Richmond there is nothing we can do about it, he doesnt deserve more money to stay and that option doesnt work anyway.

If ottens was to leave, then Richmond should make sure they get something decent for him.

as for the suggestion for cogs, well yes that is utter crap, but again if he wanted to leave what could we really do? I doubt he wants to leave he gets too much game time opportunity here.

Yes, I believe Port are unhappy that, although they are 3-0, one of the games was close. They have therefore already entered into trade talks with Richmond to trade away one of their rising young stars and some high draft picks to address the situation.

sorry crumden but its red hot that ottens wants to go home- its all over town. As for a possible trade...what people hear is what they hear and i know for a fact that Richmond like Salopek and its pretty obvious that to round out the deal we'll get atleast one high draft pick. You may not like it. But thats what people are saying. And no...i dont think people at the clubs have started talking to one another but the jungle drums are beating that this could be on. We'll have to wait and see in October anyway!

Actually.... Na i wasnt and by the way i didnt get hit in the head with a surfboard haha.

You know after mondays match i dunno what has been in me mind aye. Richmond is a way different side than what i expected in 2004. I guess i went overboard about trading coughlan. I never knew he had an injury and i guess he would be getting tagged more. But to be a superstar he has to be better than that. Like i mean look at buckley we put kane johnson no him and he still gets 31 disposals. I just wish that richmond supporters dont rate him as high as they do cause now he thinks he is at the top level and that he can just cruise. If they didnt rate him so highly he would still train teh house down as he probably does now but you know im just talking crap now.

Im sick of campbell though he is not an inspirational captain. Johnson or Coughlan at the end of the year please. Frawley has to go and our duds and i will be happy. Go cogs :p lets hope he has the same sorta game as he did vs the cats last year when he got 33 disposals hehe nice.

It's time we started to structure a side without richo in it. He's almost at the end of his career and with the extra flab he's put on he's going to get more injuries. He's history IMHO. The sooner we plan for the future without him the better. It's a shame he's been part of a rabble richmond team for most of his career. He could have been one of the greatest forwards ever.

Sadly, he's just going to be remembered as a richmond favourite son who kicked a few goals and had a bad attititude and that's about it.

The slate needs to be wiped clean this year and started again.

I heard somewhere that fremantle or West Coast were after Coughlan. Could get Kerr or Fletcher and i would be happy.

Trade Bait: Coughlan
LOL wrenny. So you want Coughlan for Captain (as your caption under your name says) and you want him traded as well?

Maybe you did get hit in the head with a surfboard - I mean if it was a hard hit you wouldn't remember it would you? :p

Still, if you don't want Coughlan we'll gladly have him at West Lakes.

I guess the Richmond coaching box resembles this board. It would be scary if you guys won the wooden spoon. You've got a better list than at least 5 other sides - although you do have a lot of dead wood. Just need a good coach who knows what he's doing. Don't worry - only 19 more rounds 'til you get him.

C'mon down early draft picks. This is the only way we can go forward. Our efforts against Geelong show precisely why need to finish with the spoon with less than 5 wins. Its our only hope. We're stuffed.

Exactly. If we are going to be playing the way we have the last 3 week i would be happy not to win another game. I want the deadwood scraped out. I want a new coach and board. A new president. New sponsers a whole new start for Richmond FC. Some smart recruiting by miller. Maybe some good players down back a midfielder and another forward and ruck option. A bit of everything is needed.
