A piece of brighter news for the Dons is the imminent return of former Geelong midfielder Prismall.

Prismall, recovering from a knee reconstruction he had last year while still at Geelong, was considered to be at least a month away. However, Hamilton said he was a chance of playing with the Bendigo Bombers this week.

He is no longer listed on the Injury list on the club website which is flipping amazing news. As for the previous comment, i can see why they wanna run him in the VFl first, but surely after 1 VFL game his selection in the seniors is just based on form. I mean in the end there isnt that much between VFK and AFL....its still just football

Has been whispers around for a couple of weeks that he would be ready to play after the Bendigo bye.
Pretty sure a couple of us mentioned it last week :)

It will stil be a two game minimum. He has not had a game of footy since last year. He will start off playing about 60% game time and build it up from there.
I would suggest three or so weeks would be the amount of time he will need to find form and match fitness.

Great news - he should be pressing for senior selection in a couple of weeks; right when we will need him as the younger players start to get weary.

When is reimers going to be back? He has been listed as 3 or 4 weeks for about 4 weeks. Pretty ridiculous if you ask me.

Prismall will be a great addition to our rapidly emerging midfield...

I think we are certainly a chance for finals with guys like Prismall running it with Watson, Stanton and Lovett...

Though our Forward and Backline seems to be the main focus of concern now on... Honestly I like McPhee down back even though some of his matchups seem odd (eg. J.Brown, T.Cloke)... We certainly have no problem running the ball out of defence with the luxery of Dempsey and NLM to break the line... Pears, Daniher and Hurley are slowly adapting to the game well too..

Our focus should be the forward line for the next couple of weeks... Lucas is clearly struggling a lot, he's obviously not confident going up for a contested mark, he's not as aggressive to get the ball and probably has been our worst player of late... Lloyd isnt' much better I have to say, but I'll give him the exception of an injury during Anzac day but his kicking has let him down... I think its time to bring in Neagle... Even though I've heard he almost puts nothign into training each week, but a change is needed...

Brent Prismall’s highly anticipated return to senior football is close with the 22-year-old expected to make his debut for Essendon’s VFL affiliate, the Bendigo Bombers, in Stawell this weekend.
It is a significant step forward in his rehabilitation from an ACL injury sustained playing for Geelong during finals last year.
Essendon football operations manager, Paul Hamilton, said the club would monitor Prismall’s training during the week but a VFL berth appears imminent.
“We expect Prismall to come back and be playing in the VFL this week if all things go well,” he said.
“The medical team have been really happy with the way he has trained and said that if he trains really well this week he can get his first run up at Bendigo."

Hamilton said Prismall will gradually increase his game time at VFL level before a return to AFL mid-way through the season.

“He won’t play a full game, he’ll just get some gradual improvement on his game time the next few weeks before we consider him at AFL level.

“We’d being thinking mid-season for AFL if he is playing VFL this week.

“He is a terrifically fit guy anyway and has done a lot of aerobic type work, which is different to football, so we’ll just have to see how he travels.”

Debuting in 2006, Prismall played 25 senior games for the Cats and was traded to the Bombers for pick 39 in the 2008 NAB National Draft.
Just putting the icing on the cake :D
Only Bendigo Bombers though :(

Now wouldn't him beating his former counterparts just be the icing on the cake? :D

With injuries and current form, getting within 100 points of Geelong would be icing on the cake! Unless Prismall can get 80 possessions, and kick 15 goals whilst keeping Ablett, Bartel, Selwood and Chapman possessionless.

Hopefully Ablett is out!

But if Prizza could manage the 80 possies and 15 goals, i think that would be accecptable LOL

THere would be a run on number 9 jumpers out of the bomber shop! lol

Last year, Prismall got 80 possessions and kicked 15 goals in one game??? I must have been out of the country that weekend.

And, no I am not speculating we are a one man team, what I am saying is that we are that far off beating Geelong, that is the type of performance that would be required to make up the difference.
