Prismall

Really hope we don't lose this guy. He will be sought after no doubt. Just hope that the club can convince him that he has a future at Geelong. With a midfield of Ablett, Kelly, Bartel, Selwood, Varcoe and Prismall all under 25 we are right for a while even with the likes of Ling and Corey nearing their late 20's.

I've watched him a lot (both at AFL and VFL level) and i've never once seen him smile, instead he's always looking like someone just shit in his cereal.

Perhaps his stinky breath is the reason for him struggling to get consistant game time in the AFL. Don't think I'll be able to eat coca pops again without doing a bowl inspection first and foremost.

Well said. Really hope he gets more opportunities to consolidate his place in the side. Well played Brent.

So if you were going to Trade Prismall to us westcoasters over here what would you think would be a reasonable trade (and Kerr or cox is not reasonable and neither is our first draft pick not unless you wanna throw in Selwood as well).

Interested in the thoughts from the Reigning Premiers supporters.:thumbsu:

Doubt we would trade him. Maybe for a young bloke we could mould into a key position defender perhaps?

Aiming high but I like the looks of Chad Jones too. And before you ask we don't want Hansen. :p

What about Nicoski and our 2nd rnd pick? Sim dog

I don't like it much myself. How does Nicoski go stopping blokes? I mean really taking them out of the game and ignoring the ball if need be? I would also doubt WCE would include their second round pick, all for another mid fielder.

He is really the only small def i think will be up for trade this year but we might have IMO Seaby, Staker, Graham and maybe Mackenzie But they are either Ruck or tall defenders so Nico is the only 1 and you will get to see him in action as he should play this week.:thumbsu:

Give it a rest chief.

Geelong and other interested clubs need to be realistic here.

Geelong's best case scenario is that Pris by weight of possessions and class of disposal cements his spot and signs a three year contract. Who he displaces is anybody's guess.

If he stays in his current position ie. in and out of the side he would be mad not to look at a change of clubs to cement his position. Clubs not likely to finish last then need to make a realistic offer at Trade week or they will miss out. Geelong would need also to bite the bullet and accept a reasonable offer. If Pris hasn't been able to cement a spot a second round pick would be fair. Tenace and Prismall package may interest Freo or other side with a slow and ageing midfield maybe for a pick in the teens.

Without a trade Melbourne would be in the box seat. Geelong get nothing.

I fancy the first option is the most likely now and someone else at the cattery will have to do time in the Twos.

If Prismall gets some games in a row and consistently shows he belongs, which i think he does, it should be players like Byres, Gamble and Varcoe (did like his game yesterday though) that should be trying to get into the side, not Prismall trying to get in like it has been the case for a few years now. I firmly believe Prismall is the better player out of those 4 ive mentioned. I know the other 3 play more forward, half forward, but we can easily change it up to get someone else currently in the side going forward so that Prismall gets a go in the middle.

That was yet another filthy act from a Port player today - captain courageous Tredrea pushed him into that other bloke intentionally, no doubt.

I hope the MRP don't ping Pettigrew for that.In no way is he to blame for the crunch on Prismall. It was that lardarse putz of captain they have who just shoved Prismall into Pettigrew.Ling must've thought Prismall was in big trouble.Straight away he signalled to the bench for the medical staff.

We would be stupid to let Prismall go. He and Selwood are the future of our midfield and they put on a show yesterday.

If Prismall requested a trade and we couldn't convince him to stay he would be highly sorted after. Essendon, Pies and WC are three that have showed interest in the past and i reckon there will be 12 other teams looking to secure his services if he was put on the table. This puts us in a very powerful position regarding the pick we would receive in return.

I don't think we would draft a player as good or with as much potential as Prismall with anything lower than pick 12 so id be unhappy if he left and we didn't get a pick in the 6 - 12 vicinity.

He had 32 possessions, 90% efficiency, kicked a goal and had 6 inside fifties - his value to the team is 5 times that of Byrnes and if he keeps that form up id have him in before Wojcinski every week, sorry Monica.

Agree on the Byrnes comment however Wojcinski plays a different role to Prismall and really can't be compared. Who goes out for Woja is a different story however?????

Wojcinski plays a different role to Prismall but Byrnes doesn't?

I see what your getting at but i just believe that a natural footballer that can hit targets and read the play should always be chosen ahead of pace, whether it be in the forward line, wing or off half back.

I think Bartel will go out this week (GS) for Wojcinski and Hawkins could be a chance to come back at Lonners expense?

There's still a chance for you to become a beliver Forssman!

If he's not a believer after that performance then there's no hope for him.

who is making way for him, barring anymore injuries?

he should have played well with all the emphasis port had on ablett, bartel, corey, ling and even selwood.

i dont think he is shite, just solid.

At the moment it's Wojcinski. The selectors made the decision that Prismall would add more to the team than Woja and they were probably right. It's not just us. The selectors obviously think Prismall is more than just 'solid'.

I think the question should be who will make way for Wojcinski?

No one has to make way for him, he's already in the team!

Wojcinski is the obvious one that will press for selection at some stage. But as cat fanatic makes the point, it's not clear who makes way for Wojcinski. I made the point before he was dropped (or rested) that his upside is that he makes 3-4 blistering runs per game but apart from that, there's little else and, at the moment, a fair bit of downside (lack of discipline, failure to shut down opponent).

I've always liked what I saw with Prismall but after yesterday's match, I think there is a role he can fill in the team that we have no other obvious candidates for. He is much more of an outside midfielder than our others but what he brings is to the side is excellent footskills, especially useful when going inside 50.

The balance at the moment looks pretty good.

he should have played well with all the emphasis port had on ablett, bartel, corey, ling and even selwood.

That argument applies equally to any player in his position. Yet no others have done as well with the opportunity as Prismall has.
