I want this game really bad. I love soccer but i mainly only play management games (UEFA Manager 2000, Total Club Manager 2003 and Total Club Manager 2004) but PES3 is absolutely amazing. I did think at first that i wouldnt like it cause it didnt have as many leagues, teams and proper players but the game play is absolutely fantastic. My neighbour has it so i always go there and play it but i want it. Waiting for it to get a bit cheaper as its still as high as $120 in some places which is crazy.

Any news on when PES is being released on XBox?

PES 4 is due out around September/October and is going to have 135 club teams and around 60 countries - nearly all with real club names and player names.

Also going to have the referee on the pitch, 2 players lining up for free kicks and new through ball control. Also going to have a better morale function.

hopefully they release is on PC

with PES 3 was ps2 and pc released at same time or was there a gap ?

ps2 first, i believe they have exclusive rights for something like 6 months

The teamwork is one of my favourite features in PES 3. You can't just sign 5 stars & throw them in & start creaming everyone in sight.

Master League is tough. On ** I was doing it easy & didn't update my squad enough. Now on *** I'm getting endless 0-0's because my new STAR recruits haven't gelled. A lot of hard work in front of me.

I tried the Euro Cup on ****. I was England & put France, Croatia & Switzerland in the group. I finished 3rd after 0-1 to France, 0-0 to Croatia & a 2-1 win over the Swiss. I missed out on 2nd on goals scored (my biggest problem in the whole game!) Wasn't happy with "Calamity" James in goal either he let in two easy headers while the majority of mine got saved easily. Frustrating! I'm goin back for more.

I like to play 5 minute games & I think that leads to a lot more 0-0 & 0-1's. Time to go for 10 minute games I think.

5 minutes is way too short! I tend to play 15 minutes in 4 star, even then the scores are only 2-1 or 3-1 at the most. 10 minutes is OK for 3 stars.

You need time to build up the play - it's fantastic just like in real soccer you can have spells of pressure at either end.

I am too impatient mate! Nay reckless! How often have I had 8 shots on target (in 5 mins!) & get caught on the break by the sucker punch. Best thing about this game is that there are no shortcuts, play properly & you do well I guess.

I'm one game away from a treble in **** in the ML. I smashed Rangers 7-1 then took on Benfica in the Cup Final. They had a man sent off after just 3 minutes, but then took a shock lead and held on to lead 1-0 at half time.

I was a bit concerned, but a howler from their keeper saw Maradona equalise, then the floodgates opened. I slammed on 4 more in 25 minutes and then with 5 minutes to go Maradona unleashed a 47 metre rocket that left the keeper stranded to top a magnificent 6-1 demolition.

I then beat Villa 3-2 to sew up the League with 3 games to go, but unfortunately lost Pele for 20 weeks with a ligmaent injury.

So now I just have to overcome Arsenal in the WEFA Champions League final.

They're usually tough!

Pele & Jahrzinho have done wonders for my team, I think signing up combinations like that helps immensely. My teamwork bar is almost full. Imagine the squad morale with Diego in the squad, Pele would shoot him in real life!

How do you check team morale? Im only new to this game.

There's no real team "Morale" stat as such. There should be though! It should at least affect the Teamwork stats though, it does early on but not to the extent that I'd like.

I'm back on track & starting to dominate now. About bloody time too!

Well I blew it with a 3-2 loss in the WEFA Cup final to Arsenal.

Kanu turned it on with a hat-trick and I was played off the park. Didn't help they received a cheap penalty though!

Time to start a European Cup campaign with Ireland me thinks.

Something i noticed a while ago but forgot to bring up here. Is it just me or do the players ages stay the same when doing hte master league?

The computer gets those from time to time.

Might be Euro time for me too.

Macca, I don't think players age in ML, never really checked but nobody seems to retire.

No, they don't age - however PES4 will have a feature where players age and retire.

Euro update on ****.

As Ireland lost 2-0 to Bulgaria Was 2 down by ht, abolished 4-4-2 & went 4-3-3. Had a much better 2nd half. Went 5-4-1 against Italy & equalised late for a 1-1. Beat Denmark 1-0 (5-4-1) missed out on goals scored again! Bulgaria had to lose to Italy to get me thru but they won the game & the group.

As France beat the Swiss, Croats & Poms 1-0 (Their default formation is sorta 4-2-2-2, with Wiltord withdrawn on the Right & Zidane in the middle)

Beat Czech 3-0 but lost the Semi 1-0 to Sweden, own goal in the 2nd half I choked! Lost 3rd place match 1-0 to Austria, I was experimenting...

I bombed out of Euro 2004 as Ireland at the group stage - I was in a shocking group against Germany, Czech Republic and the Netherlands.

Drew 2-2 with Germany, but then fluffed it with a bad 2-0 loss to the Czechs. Needed a win in my final game and battled back from 2-0 down to draw 2-2.

I then took Australia on a World Cup campaign, but it all went horribly awry. I started the campaign in stunning fashion, beating Germany 1-0 thanks to a Tim Cahill scorcher in the 3rd minute. I was then flogged 3-0 by Portugal thanks to Pauleta kick 2 of the arseiest goals I have ever seen - I kid you not, one went straight through his neck backwards for a goal!

So I had to beat Saudi Arabia in the final game to make it (they had beaten Germany 2-0). However, the side never gelled and went down 1-0 before a late equaliser from Harry.

Have just started a campaign with Liverpool in a CL format, beat Valencia 1-0 last night.

Had another go with France & made the final hit the post in the 80th minute & ended up losing to a Greek goal in the 112th minute.

I wasn't pleased.
