Proud moment for Byrne

Geelong VFL captain James Byrne skippered the Victorian state team last weekend.

Says it was one of his proudest moments in his football career to date.

Correcto, Byrne played 24 games for Adeliade. I think he was also at sydney? not sure though

The short answer is No. However, where might you put him? Who would he replace?
That is our fortunate dilemma at present.

Correct. He was rookie-listed though and didn't play a game.

He is certainly a very good player, but i dont think he would be in our best 22 ow days. A great asset to the VFL team, and certainly leads by example both on and off the field, i hope he can hang around for many yrs to come.

To be axed after his two seasons at Adelaide was very surprising to say the least. He's gone on to forge a very admirable career though nonetheless.

Bryne probably would have been in our best 22 a couple of years ago before our players started maturing. He wouldn't be now though but he is a legend.
