I read a bit of Miershemer for school recently. To be honest I couldn't tell which way he swung; he pretty much stuck to discussing arguments in purely IR terms.

He was a vocal opponent of the U.S going into Iraq, BTW.

so was Walt, and that fraud Bob Baer.

Mearsheimer and Walt, to me, they are fine with neo-liberal if it is a proxy war is S America, sponsoring a coup etc. Blowback too ambiguous.

But when the hubris of the administration with their foreign escapades = investing major resources, then they recede from such stance of regime change. I dont see em as rejecting neo-liberal policy, just potential ramifications. And ME is not a neo liberal adventure. Power projection one reckons.
