Heard Ross speaking earlier in the weekShort putting his body on the line and head over the ball was something we haven't seen for a long, long time (if ever). He showed glimpses of that in the practice game. It was arguably the most fully rounded game he's ever played.
Now he just has to do it every week.
Dow's kicking still lets him down as he too often just blazes away, but his hands are excellent and he wins his own footy. A lot to like about his game.
And Jack Ross showed exactly why he's not just in put best team but easily in our best 10 players. Could be our next captain. He's got leadership stamped all over him.
I'm still not sold on McIntosh as a tagger every week, but on the bigger, slower moving mids he will annoy and pressure the hell out of them. I didn't mind him rucking when Voss became separated from his brain and put Cripps into the ruck. He was good tonight, KMac, but we've got to choose the battles to use him.
I thought Banks and Brown both had really good second halves too, after both were very ordinary in the first half.
After the game too. Definite man crush going on here.Heard Ross speaking earlier in the week

You deserve to be given the opportunity to multitask Shogun.Normally i would agree with this however, I think letting them enjoy the moment is warranted after that. If there was ever a moment to do it, that was it. TBH if I could backflip without popping a knee, doing my back, shitting myself and ending up with a concussion, I would too

Tigers runout onto the MCG last night - who knew what was about to unfold:
Funniest moment in the game. It's like Armstrong can't believe the level of potatoisms going on before him in that sequence leading up to him shoving Haynes on to the pile, picking up the ball and sending it to Bauer for the good times. How did it go?
I found a new favourite moment, 13.40 minutes to go, the pile of bodies in McGovern and Haynes leaving the ball just inside, and we kick it straight to Bauer in the goal square for a classic slapstick major.
Would love it if EPL and Champions League did it.Why has nobody turned game calls into podcasts. It's a market miss.
Huge destination club on the way.If we do move up the ladder i imagine there will be a few nervous clubs with high profile players OOC with our salary cap and recent history of success.
awesome vid highlighting the work rate and toughness
Probably have to live in a third world country for that.Use a phone box
Really positive for Armstrong that he was there to get the ball, that’s a testament to our organisation on field that a debutant can be trusted with responsibility for his flank like that. Yes the kick to Bauer was kinda high stakes but youd expect a high level footy player to make that kick. He lasered it.Funniest moment in the game. Have a read of the Carlton board, they are already gunning for Vossy.![]()
He was in some good contests too. Just couldn't quite grab them in. One of his closest chances was buggered when Mansell accidentally ran into him as he was juggling the mark and then the ball spilt.Really positive for Armstrong that he was there to get the ball, that’s a testament to our organisation on field that a debutant can be trusted with responsibility for his flank like that. A few pundits were sort of making excuses for Armstrong saying he did pretty well too; he actually was in the game a lot more than some of the Carlton blokes. Forgive me for not noticing Carlton had a bloke on the ground in the 44 jumper. He was in some good contests too. Just couldn't quite grab them in.
