So can someone please reconcile for me the following two things that have been reported today:
1. Pyke stepping down is not related to the review that is in progress
2. Chapman saying on 5AA that now that Pyke has stepped down they expect the review to be completed earlier

I'll try and explain it;

Chapman is a ****ing moron, who only uses 5% of his brain.

I think he was so disappointed with the player response since the bye, that it left him wondering if he had lost the group. And maybe he had.

No doubt that I was disappointed with the players since R13. Do I blame the head coach for that? Maybe, maybe not. I like to think that professional players don't need a coach to find their energy for them. That's on them.

cheers
A long time ago I heard Cornes Snr say something along the lines of - everyone expects the coach to do the motivating and that's fair enough, but there comes a point where you're entitled to expect the players to step up, too. And I think that's fair comment.

So Roo has said there will be a payment but not under the soft cap, how is that possible?
Oh FFS what? Please let me find out you've misunderstood him.

I don't care if there's a payout or not, and I venture to suggest none of us really do. It's the messaging, the optics - yes dammit, it's the VIBE!

That’s what he said, 5aa player a grab and they are going off about the mixed messaging

Burton invited?

He's doing the catering.

Heres my follow up, correcting the wrong time. Feel free to listen for yourself.

So at 9.16 Chapman talks the review.
He hoped it would take 5-6 weeks, he's hopeful it can be concluded earlier particularly because of Dons decision so the club can move on.

The initial post was clearly designed to incite certain posters who choose not to listen these interviews but react to their own agendas.

Point 2 is clearly and demonstrably wrong, Chapman doesn’t expect it to, he hopes it does so the club can move on. Chapman doesn’t control the review so his hope is just that.

More to the point, a review on the football department would include a review of the head coach and more than likely that would cover a number of days. Given there now is no coach, that part of the review is clearly going to be less.

Furthermore, Dons capacity to walk away from football has been commented on previously and in the context of why he might walk away.

In summary, my posting may have been clumsy, but I'm right and there is no need to reconcile those two points as they can happily co-exist. Oh and point 2 was wrong anyway.

Nope. You are rewriting history. You denied Chapman said that the review might wrap up earlier because Don has resigned. I pointed you to that exact quote in the interview yet you still denied it.

You are a truth denier. Welcome to ignore.

Cap is one of those that allows himself to critique Admin, but will jump to their defence in the next breath if someone else does the same. The apologists are consistent in one manne, hypocrisy, they live and breath it.

Sanctions coming right up

Pyke working the baseball and esports membership hotlines for a couple of hundred gorillas a year for the next 2. Seriously though, he’s quit, he’ll be accepting a token couple of hundred grand and that’ll be that. It’s not a termination payment, it’ll be something else.

Burton invited?
The question is ...if Pyke is held in such high regard by players and officials, and Pyke is the sole sacrifice .....the players will hold that resentment throughout 2020

I’ve been really disappointed by the complete silence from all the players on social media. Whatever has happened over the last two years, Pyke took us to a grand final. At least acknowledge that he’s gone.

Has the club told them not to say anything? Have the players decided the same amongst themselves?

No thats no exactly what Roo said

He said there will be a small payment thus payment will have a minimal impact on the soft cap

I assume the payment will be Pyke out of pocket expenses to move back home to WA

Roo said there will be an exit payment of a smallish amount that wont impact on the soft cap.
How can any payment to a club football department employee not be included in the cap?

Maybe he means it won't take us over the soft cap

Not that it won't count under it
