If they played seniors there the mere competing against the better opposition makes them more then handy pick ups
Gadsden wasn’t a regular senior player. Might have played 1-2 games. Jack did and was a good 2nd ruck as a u18 player. Unlucky to miss playing in first premiership. Played in 2nd from memory. Should be handy. Be interesting to see how both go.

Tompkinson may still be covering himself in glory after a recent upload of Aust v India cricket shenanigans of him downing multiple beers went viral

Any news on any practice matches so far in this comp, how teams are going so far etc? Saw Coorparoo played Mt Gravatt last weekend, anyone know any results from it?

Alot of club's kick off this week I believe.

Mayne had a solid hit out against Yepoon and won by 5 or so goals. Swans haven't had a loss in around 90 games, nice to mix it up even though it is only a praccy match.

Mt Gravatt got up over the Kings by 4-5 goals in 1's
Kings magoo's got up by about a kick

Top end is going to be tight I think - nice change

Looks like Springwood have a practice match tonight against Yeronga. Definitely agree though will be a tight comp this year. Unlike the last couple years looks like anyone could win this comp.

Some interesting games ahead this weekend:
Maroochy against Coloundra @ Maroochy
Coorparoo against Aspley @ Griffin park
Grange against Mayne @ Grange

Hope to see some game feedback from these games.

See Rutledge boys pulling the jersey on for Aspley this year. good addition for Aspley.

Spoke to Liam and he had a laugh at this. He literally played for Pine Rivers against Aspley on the weekend.. terrible call

I thought that was the case, could’ve sworn Pine Rivers announced both of the Rutledge brothers as signings on there Facebook page a while back too. Think Aspley is gonna struggle big time this year. All those NEAFL top ups from last year now gone. The Maroochydore Caloundra game will be interesting. Be a very different Maroochydore side though I’d imagine since they last played but will give a good idea of the difference between QAFL and DIV 1 even though it’s only a practice match. Same with Mayne and Grange, especially considering it’s the Wooden Spooners of the QAFL in 2020 vs the Runners up of Div 1 in 2020. Wouldn’t be surprised to see Mayne win that game.

Yeah I don’t think that’ll be happening.

Grange will give the comp a shake with the young list and I think Maybe will be the sliders this year as they also had a few NEAFL blokes come back.

Let’s hope Henry Leong is out of his paddock

What comp will Grange be shaking? QAFL? Big call...

Decent rain forecast for tomorrow - might be hard to put a line through teams. I know Maroochydore have picked up some very good players and haven't lost a great deal except for Michael (drafted), Larkins (Norwood) and a couple of other depth type players.
I think Caloundra will be solid in Div 1 but now that bth Maroochy and Noosa have gone up the difference in standard between the 2 comps is a fair margin.

Grange will be fielding a very young team again this year, but most weeks they should get a few players back from Aspley in key positions who will provide some size and experience.

Grange are very fit, they probably have about 10 young guys in the 18-20 yo bracket who now have a fair amount of QAFL experience behind them after debuting last year in a strong (stronger?) comp and they're very well drilled, so there are some real positives.

Predictions at this early stage are a bit pointless, but given a decent run with injuries this year Grange should be competitive each week and win far more games than most outsiders are expecting.

It seems like Grange are sowing the seeds for the future but reality is they will finish near the bottom along with Surfers, you have to be optimistic as all Prez’s should be.

Some interesting results over yesterday,
Coorparoo absolutely demolished Aspley, looking like it’s gonna be a very long year for the Hornets if this keeps up.
Maroochydore seemed to have a comfortable win over Caloundra, however not sure if the score on SportingPulse is the final score or not.
Mayne went down by 4 points against a QAFL team, should be an interesting year coming up.
Beenleigh were meant to have a hit out against Bond Uni but obviously didn’t happen due to GC council being worried about 0.5mm of rain.
Should be some interesting practice matches next week though.
Aspley vs Hinterland- if Aspley don’t win this and win comfortably they are in for an extremely long year ahead.
Coorparoo Vs Beenleigh- should be an interesting game, Coorparoo one of the favourites and Beenleigh are up and Comers. Believe that they have lost Murdoch back to Southport VFL but still plenty of young talent at the Buffs.
Caloundra vs Moreton- probably the one I’m most interested in to be honest. Lotta talk that Moreton’s dominance in there division should give them a chance in Div 1 so will be interesting to see how they go Against one of the Div 1 Favourites.
Mayne vs Springwood- Two of the favourites in my opinion going against each other, always good games between these two.

May only be practice matches but with not long left till round 1 will be interesting to see.

You’re off your head if you think Springwood are a chance.

aspley is cooked because hinterland will be better then pine rivers

You can think that if you like but I think you’re off your head if you write Springwood off, they have consistently been up there in the finals every single year. They’re getting guys back this year who missed last year due to Covid, new coach with new recruits who by all reports are performing well.

Springwood no chance big call considering you probably know nothing about them I will pass that comment onto the lads. Throw away lines on site pretty easy to do. I think the response to your comment was a fairly sensible one considering that they do have players back that didnt play in the COVID year and a couple of handy pick ups.

correct me if I’m wrong but I heard Springwood lost to Yeronga last week ?
