Re: Need help getting Qooty to work on your computer?

Shallow can you open LEAGUES.DAT (yep, the dat file called LEAGUES) using Notepad, and copy paste the contents into a post here?

That's all...

Re: Need help getting Qooty to work on your computer?

Nice touch on the "that is all" :)

lemme have a think ...

Hey can you bring up the error again, but instead of the line number and line of code "open" "leagues,.dat" etc , can you tell me what it says is the name of the file.

So try the same thing, allow the error to happen, and umm probably cancel the little Help/OK dialog box (or not, I dunno).

The file name will be shown as {sumfin}.BAS in a white background, directly under the menus, centred on the screen.

Re: Need help getting Qooty to work on your computer?

Okay, I know this is a slow process but :

Go back in and bring that error up yet again (unless if you've left it there already).

60 OPEN PATH$ + "\DATA\LEAGUES.DAT" for input as #1

type a line above it, so it ends up looking like this :
PRINT PATH$ + "\DATA\LEAGUES.DAT"
60 OPEN PATH$ + "\DATA\LEAGUES.DAT" for input as #1

Nor hold down Shift and press (function key) F5. This runs that part of the program from the start again.

It will hit the error again.
Kill the help/ok dialog
Press function key F4

This will show you the screen as far as it had got before crashing

It should show what it thinks is the path to which it needs to go, to get that #60 command happening.

Please tell me what it says. Does it look like its pointing at the right place?

Press F4 again, then you can Alt-F and X to get out of the program.

Re: Need help getting Qooty to work on your computer?

Re: Need help getting Qooty to work on your computer?

see your mouse? push it to one side. we don't do mice in the dark ages.

using the cursor keys (which are arrows that go up, down, left and right, just to the right of your enter key), move around the sim that way :)

Re: Need help getting Qooty to work on your computer?

Yeah, Yeah i get to the bottom of the main screen and it just goes back to the top, how do you make it go down to the change speed part

Re: Need help getting Qooty to work on your computer?

left and right cursors

up and down moves up and down the menu, but each one of those menus is actually a set of submenus.

Its like a CD stacker, each menu is a CD, but each one can be spun on its own.

(I guess that's not really much like a CD stacker)

It came up with:

F:\QOOTYV~1.0\DATA\LEAGUES.DAT (expect that ~ line is above the V)

Wouldn't it be C:\ because F:\ is like the USB drive or am I thinking of something else? \random ;)

Re: Need help getting Qooty to work on your computer?

You need to change the path ,,,. I dunno why it didn't give you a more usable warning rather than an error, but its actually still using a path I had it set to. Main Menu > scroll down to "Path" or "Alter Path" or whatever it is, and press {enter}. See if you can change it to where your own qooty files are :thumbsu:

Scratch that.

browse into Qooty/Data, and delete the PATH file.

Then run Qooty :)

Re: Need help getting Qooty to work on your computer?

Success! It is working.

Cheers Mobbs, keep up the good work. :thumbsu:

Lol at 3 pages of mostly getting my sim to work. :D

Re: Need help getting Qooty to work on your computer?

Mobben, just me again

After ive made a league and had it configured how do i make the league play by that fixture?

Oh and you know how the commentary is posted along with the game, how do you get that commentary archive?

Re: Need help getting Qooty to work on your computer?

You have to follow the fuixture manually, at this point, bilc. There IS an autoplay function but I added it a while back and not sure how robust it is.

Its best for now to go view the fixture, to see what match is next, then come back and manually select those teams to play.

Re: Need help getting Qooty to work on your computer?

If your League is "configured" (Set Config) then every match should have a commentary file saved in the "Games" subfolder.

Go to Qooty\{leaguename}\Games
In there are a lot of weird files. .01C, .01G, .01F, .01S

You can open them all by select, right click, open with, choose Notepad

.xxC = Commentary File
.xxG = Game Time stats
.xxF = Form stats (do not share with the viewers, its can be used to give away the Vote Count winner)
.xxS = 1. End of match stats table
2. 321 Votes (avoid posting to public)
3. Goal x Goal
4. and I think another form stat list (avoid posting to public)

ALSO easier way to get a lot of the stats (not the commentary though)
From main menu > View Results > Games > {choose league} > {up/down arrow to scroll small box until right match selected} > Press {S} (instead of enter}
(creates a file called AFTRMTCH.TXT in the Qooty folder, forum-friendly, with dreamteam etc)

Re: Need help getting Qooty to work on your computer?

Step 1, are you on Vista? If so, good luck and good night.

I'm currently running Qooty on Vista.

How do you export career stats? I'm having trouble finding it.

Re: Need help getting Qooty to work on your computer?

Hiya, yeah some have got it working on Vista (some through tweaking, some through magic rofl), many haven't.

Career stats as in over multiple seasons? That function isn't yet released to the public. I'm toying with a Blair Witch Project / Cloverfield internet sensationalism before release :p

But if you just mean the stats from one season, umm :

from main menu :
scroll down to STATS TYPE, leave the side-scroller at "Senior" (unless you've been toying with reserve grades), and press {Enter}

Choose your league (left and right arrow keys)

Choose your club (left and right arrow keys)

Press {Enter}

You should see a table of 20 players with all the basic stats.

Press {F} to export that data to a text file in the QOOTY folder, called TEAMSTAT.TXT

Re: Need help getting Qooty to work on your computer?
