Question - Nathan Buckley's Jumper

Hi guys,

I've got a question for you that's a little left of centre.

Do you recall Nathan Buckley wearing a long sleeve jumper during his time at Collingwood?

I'm convinced that he didn't, but I'm wondering if anyone on here can remember him wearing one?

There are no photos of him wearing one on AFL Photos.

Does anyone think otherwise?

we all know bucks was the sort of guy who wouldnt have worn one is his younger days, and likewise no one remembers him wearing one in his later years.

but i assume the question is there cos someone does have a photo or other evidence which you will reveal, yeah ?

even the bears jumpers he wore were all short sleeve.

I have a feeling that Bucks wore a long sleeve jumper a few times when he first came to Collingwood. I just have this image of him (in my head) out at Vic Park in a long sleeved jumper.

It may be my mind playing tricks on me, but in the mid 90's a lot of players wore the long sleeves in the winter out at Vic park or even at Waverly Park on bitter cold days.

Haha, you got me there.

By the way, Graham Wright was my favourite in a long sleeved jumper, he wore it the best, next best has to be the recently inducted HOF member Scott Burns.

I would say 100% he didn't. I was lucky enough to play a year in the scoobydoo's back in the mid 90's and at training he would pick on anyone who wore a long sleeve jumper. This was back when training started a 5 and go got some cold arse nights.

They shouldn't even be made in 2012. Any player wearing a long sleeve jumper isn't obviously running hard enough to keep warm! Long sleeves are for PUSSIES!!

I asked the original question of Luke one day. My reason for asking was that i brought a "match worn" long sleeve jumper from a memorabilia store which included the club certificate signed and stating it was a match morn long sleeve jumper, one of two worn by Nathan Buckley during the game. I do recall seeing him wear one but just couldn't remember the game. Jabso...you have now made me think it might not be a fake as the jumper was an away jumper from the year 2001 or 2002...luke did tell me the year..but can remember what it was. Oh, and Luke...am still waiting for the results of your search through the away games of that year.
