Let him get his hands on the ball.
I saw a few times where he was close to the play in the forward lines but it looked like he didn't want to get in the way of Fog and Thilly.

The Crows after game in the Magarey Room is a dismal failure as the audio was woeful with delay to the change room not synching. No one could hear what was happening too much noise from the bar drowned out any interviews.
Pretty disappointing for all the members that made the effort to go up to the Magarey Room. Lift your game Adelaide Football Club as your after match function was a dismal failure.

I watched it live on the website. I am not a fan of this format, and yet again means less contact for fans with players. I feel this is worthy of an email to the powers that be. There's somethings they are getting right, but others (like fan engagement and socials) is sorely lacking.

Bit like any matchup against Collingwood, doesn't matter how, just find a way to get the four points and move on.

Yeah it's harsh i agree, but i think he lacked a bit of drive even with the mountain of ball he got.

Worth noting they were a woeful opponent too.

No , I think that’s the way he should play

Test will come against better opponent for sure when there’s more pressure to defend and more pressure on the deck

He played to his strengths today and looked a better teammate all round than last year

An away game against a talented team with a good coach, that will be a big test for the boys.

Has Murray Davis in his role made a difference. It seems strange a club would need a Coaching Director. I thought that was the senior coach's role.
To me it suggests the board does not have complete faith in Nicks.

Hard to say but there was some good coaching moves today so maybe that’s his influence

Should be, but is his brilliance lost on the dullard umps. Dawson kicked 2 and also kicked the ball a lot more, umps notice that more than blinding speed and elite creativity. Surely the both poll. Only question is whether McCrae polls in a thrashed side with his game.

Yeah Dawson will prob get the 3 , being captain helps

I’d have Rankine ahead , he’s just a genius at times

Yep, a bit of a boogie team for us in the past.
But they looked average and Brad Scott is coaching them.
I think we have improved this year, them, not so much

We beat them in Melbourne last year - we are a better team then when we last played them in Melbourne

We have been super competitive at the G - hopefully we can notch a win

Bombers will have couple key talls out which hopefully works for us

Initial thoughts are this was a full strength middle team beating up on a bottom 8 team with lots of of players injured. I'm not taking anything from this win until we play a good side.

We didn't play that well except for a few patches. Outside of those patches we managed to kick goals just through better quality players beating up on average replacements.

Thought the first half was full of fumbles (even from the likes of Crouch and Rankine) and poor kicks/decision making. Looked very rusty. Also some poor set ups at ruck contests around the ground.

Second half was better, but as the game went on, Saints pressure dropped.

There were some good signs from key players though:

TT. Dropped some marks, but his ground work stuff is fantastic. Well rounded player.

Rachele. Excellent start to the year! Got plenty of it, used it well, used his body well, kicked goals.

Hinge. Didn't get much of a mention, but he worked his way into form. Tough and provided dash. Used the ball well. He's really important to us this year I think. If he can be AA quality then we'll go a long way to make the 8.

Worrell very good and dependable.

I liked ANB. He'll be really good for us over the next few years.

Dawson and Soligo were excellent, but expected.

Average:

Rankine was sloppy imo. Stats look good but could really tear a game apart and continues to tease a bit. Hopefully just rusty.

Crouch was good and bad. Thought he was also sloppy at times especially in the first half.

Murray and Keane good in the air, some poor foot skills though.

Cumming and Peatling were good and bad. Didn't look as good as in the pre season, but showed some good signs.

Milera wasn't bad, but still no way he should have come in before Nank.

Only saw a bit of the first half and some highlights but I think Thilthorpe could absolutely rip this competition apart if he can string a few seasons in a row together.
Also good to see 12 individual goal kickers
