Big game today. Playing a team very much around our rank, we're actually the favourites for the first time in probably more than a year - but the bookies are predicting a close one. Win and we equal the amount of wins we got in the entire of last year. And make getting the spoon pretty damn unlikely. Lose and well.... better chance at a higher pick?

The Saints were prematurely celebrating having just one player on the injury list, but for this match we lose 4 first 22 players (2 injured, 2 return to rookie list), and omitted Hickey. We can celebrate the return of several players over the last two weeks (Ray, Ross and Savage - last week and Gilbert, Dunstan and Weller - this week) and the addition of a savoury meatball !!!

Melbourne lose Garland and Vandenberg and drop (Matt) Jones, Fitzpatrick and Newton to bring in Tyson, Grimes, Stretch, Mitchie and debutante Neal-Bullen.

This will probably be a tight match with a focus on pressure.​

Desperately hope it is, another three shots on goal for two points then losing confidence and trying to pass off to some one in not quite a better position and he'll find himself back in the VFL.

Like all of them I really want him to succeed.

Cant help but think that Melbourne have disrespected Membrey by dropping the obvious matchup for him and they may be forced to compromise their own offence during the match in order to stop his influence on the match.
