I can see him avoiding our toughest remaining away trip

Maybe sit that one out. Give Draper a run.

Ooh I know this one!!!

Subbed on in the last quarter, followed by "Sid will play the 2's. He needs a full game in his legs."

I don't think we see a 20-40 point today. We either botch it insanely again and lose or barely win, or we feast on them and win by 60+.

Think we have too much quality this year to let them get one over on us. I might look silly in the end but it feels like a feast day.
I think a lot of that will be built around Nicks mindset on the game and if he lets us play offensively, or if he thinks this could be a tough one and executes Operation: Boundary Line in which case it'll be a game that keeps Richmond in it.

Adelaide is the only side this year who has been consistent with our level of performance. Even when we have lost we have played well, which has resulted in beating up poor sides and at least being competitive against the best. I can see no reason that should change today, easy 10+ goal win.
I mean we did not play well against Hawthorn or Fremantle at all - we didn’t lose by much in those games, but we were terrible.

Probably the worst thing (injury aside) that could happen today is both he and Smith play well
For a Crows supporter you don't have much imagination...

I’m not saying that we have played brilliantly every game, however nearly all other sides this year have had games where they have been just awful and lost by 10+ goals. We haven’t had a game like that to this point.

It’s worth noting that Hawthorn obliterated North yesterday, while we would have beaten them if we had kicked straight. In our other loses GC and Freo brought very high level pressure which we just couldn’t quite overcome, Collingwood were just slightly too classy on their home deck and we were 5 goals up on Geelong before the 5 day break caught up with us. The coaches should actually be given credit for the fact that we seem to have been mentally switched on every week so far.

Rory Sloane proving what we know about club selection philosophies. SFS talking about where Pues at and can rotate squad to keep fresh. Sloane asks ‘but when do you lock it in’. Isaac Snith says you don’t, you always have 18-19 of your best 23, but you rotate others through’.

Dont think the margin will be as big as some others think, we are trying to master defense at the moment, we will be more focussed on trying to stop their goals and any forward play for them for that matter rather than about ours.

Keen to see how Soligo goes today. He's the player I've thought we most needed to rest, more than even Tex.

Hoping for some good weather conditions and a good playing surface for a change.

Hoping for no injuries, no suspensions, decent umpiring and just banking a win, that will do me. Anything more is a bonus.

Isaac Smith is brilliant on this show

Everything he says makes sense. A product of Hawthorn and Geelong winning cultures

The biggest step forward this year was winning the Brisbane game from behind

We hadn't played great but stayed in the game. A great start to Q4 (and admittedly some Brisbane inaccuracy) and we won.

Previously we've stayed in games but only succeeded in minimising losses. Often it never even felt like we were going to win, even in games we only lost by 10-20 points.

Staying in games in order to pinch them is the whole purpose and how you can topple top teams.

Strong defence to limit damage when the opposition is on top (tick)
It takes a touch of class at the death, big moment players (we have some now)
Winning these types of games becomes a habit (hopefully we are building this)
Need a strong 2 minute drill to close out games (we're comically bad here and hopefully this is taking up a large amount of our coaching focus)

Was listening to McRae’s post-match press conference yesterday – he talked about trying a new strategy with four forwards because one of their new draftees Charlie West deserves a chance to play. Collingwood are prepared to adjust their system to accommodate him – while it’s against the low ranked Eagles, it’s a very refreshing attitude that don’t ever seem to consider compared to Nicks wanting to only ever play the same 22 each week.

Despise Richmond and their colors. Better win going away against these clowns.

Late Saturday Night Footy game for me. 🤪

Really wouldn't mind seeing us flat track bully the Tigers this week.

I have no problem beating up on lowly sides
Yep, get that % to a point where it buffers us in the event of any end of minor rpund tie with other sides on points. It will be like an extra win for us if we put the hammer downon the poorer sides from now to september

Last time we mastered defense against a shit team, they kicked 10 points to half time

We kicked 75

I am expecting an easy win but I do fear a close loss, depending on which Crows side turns up today especially after a bye, and whether we have a good start or not. If you have followed the Crows long enough you know that especially under Nicks you can't guarantee that we will win even against the lower sides.
