All this talk of a percentage boost should be a massive red flag for this game.

We lost to them last year and are playing our full strength best 22 with no young debutant experiments

Anything less than a demolition job is a fail. The team should be angry about last year and ready to atone. We should come out firing and it should be over at quarter time.

The biggest step forward this year was winning the Brisbane game from behind

We hadn't played great but stayed in the game. A great start to Q4 (and admittedly some Brisbane inaccuracy) and we won.

Previously we've stayed in games but only succeeded in minimising losses. Often it never even felt like we were going to win, even in games we only lost by 10-20 points.

Staying in games in order to pinch them is the whole purpose and how you can topple top teams.

Strong defence to limit damage when the opposition is on top (tick)
It takes a touch of class at the death, big moment players (we have some now)
Winning these types of games becomes a habit (hopefully we are building this)
Need a strong 2 minute drill to close out games (we're comically bad here and hopefully this is taking up a large amount of our coaching focus)
Totally agree with you, and Collingwood have actually won a flag on the back of this ability. I was actually just responding to a poster saying that it would be such a Crows thing to get smacked by Richmond this week. Really just pointing out that we are probably the benchmark this year for not taking any game lightly.

Slightly nervous how we are going to turn up at our favourite bogey ground after a bye and after a disappointing close loss last game.

Anything could happen today IMO.

Richmond normally fade badly in the second halves so hopefully we just weather any early storm then put the foot down.

We were tipped to beat Hawthorn in our last match.

Cmon now. We were favored by 2.5 points. It was a flip of the coin game.

I said before we have played 6 of the bottom 8 sides. We beat 5 of em by 60+. North we beat convincingly by 36.

Richmond have lost 6 games by 40+.

We should absolutely smash them.

If he can play at that level then he probably should be in the side. Personally I think there is no chance of this, however I will be very happy if he does, and will be happy to change my opinion on him in that scenario.
So what you are saying is..

You’ve seen over a hundred of his games.. and you’re still unsure if he should be in the side or not?..
and if he has a good game today against a bottom team you’re saying that will be enough to change your opinion of him?

Why dont you just come out and say it..

end the charade..

you’re a fan of him and you can’t see anything wrong with Nicksy wanting him in the 22..

The triple pike double backflip gymnastics some posters on here do to justify their bewildering opinions is fxxkn hilarious..

Very narrowly

Squiggle aggregate has us 81% chance of victory which is overwhelming favourite territory
Also tipped to beat Geelong in round 5. Clearly we have lost when we were tipped to win this year so to say we have not lost when tipped to win is obviously incorrect.

I’m not sure how you came up with that from my post, as I clearly stated that I think there is no chance of Murphy playing at an A grade level. However, if after 100 below average games of AFL, he should manage to turn it around, then fine, he should be in the side. You of all people should understand this after seeing Ben Keays do exactly that despite you thinking continually that it was impossible.

For the record, I’m absolutely not a fan of Murphy, mainly because he just does not find enough of the footy, and his kicking for goal is terrible for a small forward. He is in the same boat as Schoenberg, Jones and Chris Burgess in being above SANFL level but below AFL, and I personally would not have him in the top 30 picked on our list.

On a separate note however, I honestly don’t understand how people get angry at a player simply because they are not good enough. It’s not his fault that the selectors pick him, and it’s certainly not a lack of effort or work ethic holding him back.
