Pedlar turning into a bit of a teacher’s pet

Why not give Nank a go in that role? Or Dowling? Or even Schoenberg?
Peds is being given more opportunities than most. His form is clearly down on 2023 but is the sort of player that has finals written all over him. Not too many small blokes go harder at the pill and personally glad we are persisting.

The benefit of being a high draft pick.

I think so.

His 2023 was good, but I think people get a little carried away. Played 23 games, kicked 25 goals and averaged 12 disposals.

This is season 5 on the list and will likely only have one season with 10+ games. That combined with being an often injured junior doesn't bode well.

Needs to perform these next 3 weeks and play in the finals with 2026 deciding his career IMO.

Not an excuse for just simply not getting enough of the ball, though

That average of 12 disposals a game in 2023 really highlights the fact that he hasn't had 12 disposals in a game a single time since then.

I think he's a pretty high impact player when he does get the ball and I'd happily take a goal and 10+ disposals a game from him while Rachele is unavailable. Hasn't shown much in terms of being able to reach that level this year though. Similar to Cook and Taylor - does impact the game when he gets the ball, doesn't stay in the game enough to truly cement his spot. There's still one position up for grabs in finals after Rachele comes back I think which he could make his own if he's good enough the next few weeks.

Because I think its too late to bring in a new player

As much as we dont like it the squad is set for finals and there shouldnt be too much tinkering

Its why Draper is done. Get more miles in the SANFL hit the pre-season and start next year

My only concern is from a LM point of view - selecting/keeping players in the squad you should be looking to delist

Crouch is averaging 30, what's your point.

Assuming you have one
Lol you made the point - you said he should be averaging 20+ and when shown your ignorance you moved the goalposts

Its an interesting one i agree.

Im all for rotating travelling emergencies, rather than having the same guys miss miss a game each week. Caveat to that being if Murphy/Harry are set for delisting (likely for the latter), them missing a game in the SANFL means guys who ARE part of the future are getting a game.

GreyCrow summed it up beautifully. You knocked Draper and said he should be averaging 20+ (which he is).

Of course he should be, and i am well aware hes doing that.

But hes not playing to a level that puts him above the guys being picked on the emergency list. I also suspect they'd like him to kick the ball more, currently handballing a lot more than he kicks.

And thats fine for a kid in his first year.

I’ve considered that but if the game is over I expect TT may be the first in line to be subbed out.
We've taken him off at various stages this year. He barely played the last quarter of the Showdown, and there's been a couple of other occasions.

I suspect Dawson might be the guy this week.

It’s time to get off the Cook/Pedlar merry go round, there are plenty of alternatives in the B’s

OF these plenty of alternatives who play specifically the small pressure forward role? Seems to be the role that's getting Pedlar selected especially while Rachele is unavailable?

Maybe.

Or they see TT as the most valuable asset and will continue to manage him accordingly.
