Where did I compare anyone, it is a simple question the same as the one you asked, there are 3 possible answers, Yes, No, Don't know.....I answered I don't know.

I'm not a hater. Just saying he doesn't seem to have had his loyalty tested in the slightest.

That list is an argument against elevating Reilly to a certain list based only on games. You've highlighted another as well.

Why on earth would you think I was saying they're equal? That's a ridiculous statement to make. Of course I don't think that.

However, to make it onto that list means you're quality. Not necessarily Ricciuto quality, or McLeod quality, but quality nonetheless.

There is no doubt that Reilly will become the weakest player on our 200 gamers list. No doubt at all. My point is that being the weakest name in that kind of company is nothing to be ashamed of.


Allef - I know what you're getting at with regards to loyalty, because it's not like he was fielding many offers to leave... but one thing Reilly did do was go out of his way to help change the leaving culture. After struggling so badly with homesickness for his first few years, he then worked with our leadership group to help improve conditions for new interstate recruits, just in time for the likes of Douglas, Dangerfield and Sloane to come onto the list.

For the record I'm not really that stressed whether he had been fiercely loyal or not. I've no doubt he had given us his best.

Yeah I cringe a little when Reilly is compared to Doughty. Dogga was a super reliable, tough as nails contributer that slways got the job done and never let the team down. Reilly is several rungs below this but congrats to him and I will be there cheering him on for a win over the pies.

I understand, and like I said, his loyalty has never been put to the test (though I get the impression he'd be a loyal person). Just trying to point out the positive things he's brought to the club culture.

Pretty on par for mine.

Both average players who had one or two very good seasons. Doughty's were at the end of his career, so he went out on a high, with positive impressions, over-riding the fact he was average for the bulk of it.

Spent a few weeks out of the team while Tex took him to 'don't argue' school. I would like this to be his last chance, and if he fails, he will live out his contract in the SANFL with Porps.

My sceptical side thinks maybe the coaches know that hendo will come straight in and this was the only opportunity to get him to 200.

Absolutely. Not having Hendo and Lynch pretty much all season has robbed us of our two most versatile players and meant guys like Smith have had to plug holes in defense rather than play in the middle.

Difference between Doughty and Reilly goes back to where they started. Doughty was outstanding value for a rookie pick. Reilly will go down as poor value for a first rounder and will always be judged more harshly because of that.
