Thankyou. Very rare I come across someone who even knows the Last Dinosaurs.
They're severely underrated. I reckon if they were more prolific with their output they'd be one of the country's biggest bands. In A Million Years would be in my top 5 all time albums.

As much as I love them, you lose them next to so many bands with a similar sound.

Been sporadically listening to their new album but still prefer In A Million Years. Zoom, Sunday Night and Honolulu probably my favourites.

This is a bit of a long shot, but does anyone know of a good site to find photos of footballers from the late 80's (SANFL, WAFL or VFL)? Looking to use some for my upcoming portfolio but I'm struggling to find many.

West Coast just announced their split from the alignment with East Perth as of next year. If they were to avoid the common sense option of aligning with Perth and instead have a stand-alone club, what do you think they'll wear? Might have to wear white like the Adelaide Reserves as Claremont already have the Blue and Gold.

What if the VFL never became the national competition?
What if the Eagles' reserves became a standalone team?
Welcome to the West.

What if I guessed meme culture is everywhere now?

Freight Train: as a noob, mind explaining the ochre obsession?

I work at NT Thunder games and they have ochre, do I win? In fact, in my opinion, their ochre heritage guernsey is the best one they have and should really be the home guernsey.

The Ochre guernsey has a bit of a cult following around these parts. In my honest opinion it’s actually a great guernsey design. Great colour scheme, great design concept (the eagle and the gradient shaped on the WA coastline) and just an extremely unique design. Obviously it has its downsides in terms of the fat budgie across the front, the unnecessary tri panel gradient along the back (should have been a plain navy backing with gradient numbers) as well as it being worn during the club’s first real “rebuilding stage”, so it’s become associated with a negative time in the clubs history. But if you wanna talk about a bad design, the home guernsey at the time was utterly abysmal - a navy to bright yellow gradient across the front of the guernsey that turned green in the middle essentially, with absolutely zero colour balance.

Overall though, for what they were intending which was a unique design that tore away from traditional guernseys and represented the West Coast of the country, I think they nailed the brief. If I were the Eagles in 2000, trying to move away from the blue and gold colour scheme (which they shouldn’t but this is hypothetical), I’d have had the Ochre as a home guernsey, with some sort of orange/yellow based guernsey as an away/clash.

Does it get any better than this?

GOAT design that I couldn’t see clashing with anything any other club wore in that era.

I love the wings, but this is the kinda cult loved gurnsey a club builds itself around.

Isn't this exactly what the Return The Wings campaign was about? Give it another 10 years and you sandgropers will be calling for the tripanel back because of its heritage

The ochre is sort of like a Mercedes SLS. Stunning from the front, but they let the work experience kid finish off the back.
