I live in Brisbane.

Im lucky though, we live out of the flood affected regions.

However, we did drive out to some of the badly affected suburbs such as Salisbury, Yeronga (where the new AFL Queensland HQ is, and its completely flooded) Tennyson (where the recent Brisbane International Tennis was held) and Graceville.

On Rugby League fields, water was up to the crossbars.
The Tennyson tennis centre was about 15 metres from going under.
A bridge at 3.8m clearance at Salisbury was half a metre from going under.
A pontoon with a canoe on it smashed into a bridge going over the Oxley Creek at Graceville, while I was filming.
Houses at Yeronga were about chest-height underwater.

Might be going to help out the effected areas sometime soon, its absolute carnage in some places.

I have been talking to him on deviant art... I will check if he is still there.? Bit odd.

It does appear as if he's left for some reason, he sent me a short and fairly vague message earlier. His account still appears to be active, so I dunno what's going on.

His deviant art profile is there, but everything on it has been removed.. just his username is there only....

It could have something to do with the "Rate the Hottie" thread that HSSB mentioned; to say he was embarrassed there would be an understatement.

It's a shame, he had a passion for footy jumpers from half a world away.

On another note - anyone ever had a laptop power adapter break down on them (looks like it had been chewed by the dog), leading to a fuse or something being blown/burnt out in the actual computer and hence nothing can recharge the battery?

Yeah he got owned haha, Stupid_Gimp got carded from it though, which was probably unnecessary

I read that thread in question, and it's hard to work out what happened with various posts being deleted. He obviously took something to heart, either that Stupid_Gimp's comments (a very suitable username, by the looks of it), or he maybe got a red card, or something else.

Rate the Hottie - that's just asking for trouble. I stay away from that kind of crap now. I too am really disappointed because he had some wonderful ideas.

AC adaptor... yeah I've had one more or less give up. Usually it won't short out the comp, BUT the jack itself is susceptible to damage. If the jack comes loose from the motherboard, the cost of repair is usually the price of a new laptop. If it's just the AC adaptor, you can get an after-market one for about $75-100.

Yeah that's all i thought it was, so I went out and bought a new $80 adapter to find out it was something more serious. It needed replacing nayway obviously.
Went to one of the comp repair stores today; $100 nd 5-8 days just to LOOK at it (tht's Perth for ya).'
They think its the DC socket or something (not a techno-wiz sorry), there goes an extra $200.

I am considering throwing in the towel and getting a new computer - preferably mac, depending on my uni needs.

Thought this was the most appropriate place, given BigFooty only exists for me in this forum.
Also, it's hardly worth it's own thread.

So here is my story:
Had a chest infection before Christmas
Now the infection has spread to my heart.
I got a chest xray to find out why the cold wasn't going away and they said my heart was enlarged and working at 15% of what it should be. Had I waited another week, I would have had a heart attack.
So this virus is causing some sort of weird heart rhythms which might stop it completely.
I had an angiogram done Monday which found no blockages, so it's all caused by this virus.
However, I am currently in hospital, with no real prospect of getting out until either the weird heart rhythms stop, or they put in a defribulator. I am apparently a good candidate for this, but would prefer to recover through medicine.
Ventricular Tachycardia is the official name for the heart rhythms.

So when you see my site (www.footyjumpers.com) and want to know why I haven't updated something, or changed something, well, you'll know why.
