I believe in 2012, it's the year happening right now isn't it??? But for serious, it is an absolute load of shit that people had known about for years but only got popularised by a shitty movie.

So true :thumbsu: Every couple of months some ******** predicts the world's going to end for one reason or another. Just another load of s*** that as said has been made big by a movie.
When I was in the states last year actually we went on a cruise through a few Mexican islands and visited a few of the Mayan ruins. Our tour guide had Mayan heritage and was hell bent on all this 2012 stuff happening. Apparently the Romans came in and burnt a heap of books and other resources that could have 'stopped it from happening' and given more details. I forget all the exact details but was really interesting hearing things from his perspective anyway

2012 isn't the end of the world. Specifically, 21st December 2012. It's just the end of the current Mayan epoch - they need a "longer" date format.

Sound familiar? Y2K bug was the same thing, for computing calendars.

It is on the Swan River. But it's fairly inland. So yeah, it's not a great place to live.
